Hi - I know CDW is a minefield when it comes to car insurance.

I want to hire a car with Hertz in the UK through vroom vroom.

I've checked my PDS which I have through RAA and it gives me an $8000 excess http://www.raa.com.au/documents/raa-travel-insurance-pds as I have a premium insurance

I also have a Qantas Amex and Citibank Signature card and can't see anything about CDW in either of their PDS. Citibank doesn't give enough car for car rental excess and I can't even find anything about rental car excess in the Qantas Amex one.

This is the T&C for Hertz - will I be OK with just my RAA or do I need to take out extra insurance.

TIA for any advice

They usually offer to reduce the excess when you pick up the car (for a hefty fee). I pick my annual TI based on a number of parameters of which a main one is the vehicle excess on a hire car.

Best I could find this year was 1Cover at $6,000.
