Some mixed reviews at the W Hotel in Waikiki...it's supposed to be a 4 star but some of the reviews out there say otherwise.

This hotel is no longer under the Starwood banner and now trade as The Lotus Diamond Head.

Having stayed there in Nov08 as a W I thought it was a nice place to stay, it is only a casual 10 minute walk to the Waikiki strip and the walk is along the beach/park.

Its a boutique property and its not prime beachfront but does have access to its own secluded shared beach with the Outrigger which is really nice - given Waikiki Beach is sometimes completely packed!

If you are thinking of staying in Honolulu (and at a SPG property) See my reviews on the Sheraton Waikiki, Moana Surfrider - Westin Resort and (the former) W Honolulu ;- http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/com...tarwood-properties-honolulu-hawaii-15553.html

Yes, I have heard that they pride themselves on their 'seclusion' away from all the mayhem of Waikiki Beach.

I guess you're always going to have people that love and hate any hotel...it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone (QF009?) has any experience with the W Hotel in Honolulu and if so what their comments would be?

Reviews seem very "mixed" on Trip Advisor.

Thanks!

A friend of mine actually just got back from Honolulu and stayed at the W, I'll ask her how it was.
