Thanks, mind telling me the cost?

I think it was approximately USD200 for 6 hours in the X5. Cheaper if you opt for the Toyota MPVs or sedans. Sorry I can't remember exact pricing as it's been a while but I think there were 4 different tiers of pricing. Bizarrely the Toyota Camry was priced the same as the E class sedan.

There's no set itinerary. You simply decide how long you're going to hire the car for and tell your designated driver where you wish to go. One of the Insiders worked out our itinerary.

I think it's well worth it and far more comfy, convenient, and definitely a lot safer than getting a cab. You do tend to cover vast distances if you go to places like Tanah Lot or Ubud.

Thinking of booking this property, but I'm finding it a little hard to compare the various rate plans. Most of them advertise "Access to Hot Stone Bath and Cold Plunge at AWAY Spa by W Hotels" and "Unlimited access to SWEAT (fitness center)" but are these complimentary already?

Also, is this one a special or also free "Participation to AWAY Spa & Recreation daily activitiy such as tantric meditation, bamboo stretching, Fit & Fab bootcamp, etc"

I'm trying to compare the current 35% off resorts promo for $300/night with the "Sweet deal" and the "for the Fabs".

Thanks

If you look at the Best Available Rate or Limited Time Only rates ... they do not have any of the additional benefits mentioned eg. access to Sweat, or Away Spa etc. However when I stayed there access to the Sweat (gym) anyway was complimentary (I don't know if my Platinum SPG status gave that) though it would be highly likely (imo) that gym access is free (all you need is your room card anyway).

The Away Spa however is a paid service and access to the Hot Bath + Stone Bath (which I am assuming is the sauna and relaxation areas) is never included in those BAR, LTO rates. The Recreation activities were never mentioned when I was there (June 2011) and I assume this is a paid service (unless part of your rate).

I would be very tempted to be persuaded by the "For The Fabs" deal ..... as much as I'd like to be Keith and catch the BMW X5 transfer, a regular taxi from the airport or whever is fine and at a third of the cost.

I don't know if you have an SPG account, but there are SPG50 certificates that can be redeemed for 1,000 star points, and you can (if available) access rates that are 50% of rack rates. In my search, rates commence from $225us plus taxes using SPG50. If you want let me know the dates and I can contact SPG Platinum via online chat to see if that is available. Won't take longer than a few minutes.

Great trip report!

Heading to the W Bali in mid September with MsChooms for a quick four night getaway.

Have booked into the one bed villa, although you can villas for much, much less in Seminyak, our intention is to really stay in one place and chill (it's been a while since I had a holiday).

Will be sure to post whether the problems have been ironed out.
