First time poster, long time lurker...

Wanting to book SYD - MLE for honeymoon on 12APR22. Not sure where we'll be going after MLE as yet, but definitely wanting to go up on SQ via SIN in business class, will figure out the rest later.
Availed the 240000 AMEX Discover Card points for myself into SQ KF points, plus the points I already had means I've got around 170000 KF points.

Issue is, all the savers are on waitlist at the moment at 84000 KF a pop (total 168000KF for both of us).
Advantages are available for confirmed booking at 125000 a pop, meaning my partner would need to apply for the above AMEX promo to get the required points (she has enough SQ KF points in her account to cover the rest after converting her points).

Do I wait for the saver waitlists? Are they on hold because of the current situation? We want to go up on the SQ 232 (A380 dep 1100) but that's not listed as a VTL (as their VTL flights are only until late March, and who knows if that'll even still be a thing by then?) Or do we play it safe and go to the effort of applying for the card, rejigging bills to trigger the 240000 amex points promo, to then book the advantage?

TIA for responses
Cheers

Solution
Depends on whether your date is set in stone or not. We're travelling to Europe in March. The only F awards available were to FRA but only advantage. As the date could be changed I took the advantage awards but wait listed 2 savers 2 days earlier. They came through a week later. I guess everything is in a state of flux at the moment.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Fair call, the date it set in stone, what's interesting is the seat maps show no seats booked/selected. You might be right about the state of flux
