Was the Distance between BKK & KUL being Deliberately misstated by QFF? [Now Fixed by QFF]

So will they retrospectively fix up incorrect credits applied for x years?

Good to know. Now who is taking up the fight? :)

I am already engaged with QFF on more than one matter and not in a position to open up a new front ...

hmmm let me think...... :p

Bit of a far stretch but would it come under the weights and measures act?

Southern point of BKK boundary to northern point of KUL boundary is 753.7 miles. You can't fly less miles unless you want a runway excursion.

Now city to city is about 738 miles. Perhaps QFA are using city to city not airport to airport miles?

I wonder if KUL is the problem. IIRC I had a similar issue some time back with KUL-DEL when the magic number of miles was 2400. GCmap tells me 2404 miles. QF claimed 2396 or something like that.

Academic now since QF shifted the goalpost to 2500 miles:rolleyes:.

Cheers skip.

An alternate route where there is inconsistency at QFF is PER-DOH on QR (Not so much shortchanging as the SC earning is fixed for this route, rather than mileage based). My concern is regarding the redemption rates. The QF calculartor states PER-DOH is 5802 miles which puts it 2 miles into zone 7 for redemptions.

Mileage calculators on airmilescalculator and milecalc have it as 5789 or 5790 miles, puting in zone 6...

QF use the IATA published TPM ( from Amadeus) not the GCM

Does anyone have access to 1A to check?

Any recent updates on this topic?

I noticed the QF response on the AFF article Qantas Shortchanging Frequent Flyers on Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur Route saying "A Qantas spokesperson told Australian Frequent Flyer that the Qantas Frequent Flyer earn rates for the Kuala Lumpur-Bangkok route will be updated as soon as possible"

The sceptic in me suspects that the Qantas version of ASAP is the same as when I tell the wife I'll take the bins out ASAP... :)

Or the SC earn will be enhanced. :( Fairer and simpler comes to mind with these sort of situations.

This may, in the long term, turn out to be a Pyrrhic victory.

I recently did two trips on this route in J past 2 weeks, the SC's were correctly credited as 60 SC. Hope this helps

Excellent news! Was that on MH or RJ?

Yep, I did look that up several times during my run, as I thought it would have been a real hassle to file a retrospective claim. As long as the back-end systems work correctly, we plebs will have to wait for the corporate machinery of QFF to tidy up all the loose ends, eventually... ... ... :D

Would either of the mods keen to consider updating the title of this thread? I don't think there has been any malicious intent by the programmers to gyp us, probably more of a honest mistake
