We are all in big trouble if things go bad where I am located.
Really that's the key, you're there ready to work. Not your fault if they can't give you anything to do.Yes saw that on Sky news earlier.
Power or no power still heading off to work. Let them worry about the power problems....
Buying meat is a complete waste, learnt that when cyclone Winifred hit Cairns. No electricity for more than a day or so and your meat is worthless.(BTW, Was in a city Woolies earlier, plenty of F&V, meat was pretty low, water bottles were nearly empty - but (apart from one bloke) I didn't really see people hoarding)
Have plenty of food and when I hired a car before Christmas I purchased 16 1.5L bottles of water as they are much easier to carry that way.(BTW, Was in a city Woolies earlier, plenty of F&V, meat was pretty low, water bottles were nearly empty - but (apart from one bloke) I didn't really see people hoarding)
I'm in a flood prone area (east brisbane) but on the rather high side of the gabba so I'm safe but not liking the idea of no power tomorrow.
I might just go into work because at least I'll have internet! lol
...maybe...
Of course l have not even began to think about materials, fuel, food, catering and beverage delivery's ect.
as a side note, the whole of the vodaphone network has collapsed.
Vodaphone say's the failure is across all Qld services including internet.
Enegex announced 100,000 res connections throught bne and 22,000 biz and corp connections switched off starting from 7am in the morning.
disconnections will stay for at least 2 days or until further notice.

Well congrads Karen, you must be one the few that is.
I know they have some shared services but not many.
You must be one of the lucky ones
they are useing the 74 flood maps as the guide to disconnections.
If your power comes from an area that went under in 74, then you will be effected.
There will be other dissconections, but the floodzones are starting tonight first.
I did that during the 1974 floods. Are they offering to helicopter you from home to office?
