Wendouree allocations and general discussion

For those curious, I gave them a call and they confirmed their system was that if you did not order in the previous year, you would not be present on the mail-out for the subsequent year
They must have a of pressure to fit people in from the wait list I guess with all the small harvests!

FWIW they also mentioned that next year (2022) they might not be running a standard mailing list process due to the difficult vintage - it might be targeted at long-standing and active members
looks like I might have to resort to other (more expensive) means to add a Wendouree or 2 to my small collection

Make friends with a person in your local area that regularly buys. Like myself, you'll usually find that although they buy a case (or in some years more than a case) of everything, they often don't intend to keep it all for themselves and are very happy to off load a bottle or two or even swap for something you may have (this has certainly worked well for me with people in the Wollongong area).

You can often get some decent prices on aged, quality checked wendouree at cellarit.com.au
At 50%+ issue price, I wouldn't call these offerings decent:

Yes I need to hunt down some local buyers here in little old West Gippsland....good thinking, thanks for the tip

This thread has gone quiet. Are we in that lull period after all the black signatures have been processed? I'm not expecting any word for at least another couple of weeks yet but it would be good to hear that there's some more action happening.

Quiet? There was a post less than a week ago.

There are reports of credit cards being charged. And I'll add mine to that list. What else were you looking for?

Last post re an order being processed was Kohen this time last week. Good to hear yours has come through.

Mine hasn't been charged yet, but I also think it is probably a couple of weeks away - it was after the first week in August for me last year

Was a suggestion/query (from a Clare local I believe) on another forum that orders may be delayed a week due to the lock down. May explain the lull.

I think it's simply the Wendouree Wait...

Mine usually gets charge in August and yes no doubt here will be delays due to the lockdown. In saying that, have had red crayon friends' and one occasion myself where CCs have been hit 2 days after letter sent back...

Rather than sending the form back via Express Post like every other year, this year I've sent it via Registered. It's been sitting at the Clare PO since late July awaiting collection. Should I panic?

My express-posted order form was lost 2years ago. I just called the winery and explained why I was checking. They were able to quickly tell me it hadn’t been received and organise a replacement form. No fuss at all.
