Re: Westpac Altitude 50,000 QFF points ($150 annual fee - waived for existing custome

Opened an account last week (fee free if $2k deposit/month) and planning to apply for Altitude Black towards end of the month. Bonus points are obviously appealing but also ATO spend and Starwood Preferred Guest Gold status offer for upcoming trip in April!

ATO spend is not great on the Amex black (no points on M/C) you don't get the standard points earn but a reduced rate, also think you don't get spg gold until after one night stay and it's a one time offer not annually

Re: Westpac Altitude 50,000 QFF points ($150 annual fee - waived for existing custome

Which is better: Altitude Rewards or Qantas FF for the point earn on the Altitude Black card?

Earn rate seems to be the same.

Re: Westpac Altitude 50,000 QFF points ($150 annual fee - waived for existing custome

Finally got my 50k bonus points after completing the required spend in August. Seems Westpac aren't quite as pro active as some of the other banks.

After previous issues with the application, I went into the branch and they resubmitted the application with correct details however the result was still the same. Done with Westpac for now.

Re: Westpac Altitude 50,000 QFF points ($150 annual fee - waived for existing custome

I applied for a fee-free Reward Saver account online over the weekend, and despite initially getting a message saying something had gone wrong I got an approval email about 12 hours later. The email asked me to go in to my local Westpac branch today to show ID to activate the account, which I did this morning, and just put in an application for the Altitude Black - immediately got conditional approval for my nominated $15,000 limit, pending proof of employment.

In my view, the hassle to open the Reward Saver account was well worth it for 50,000 free points. The existence of this fee-free offer for existing customers should really make punters think twice about going for Westpac's 100,000 points for a $395 annual fee offer for the very same card - the extra 50,000 points for $395 is not great value.

Re: Westpac Altitude 50,000 QFF points ($150 annual fee - waived for existing custome

Applied Monday and after immediately supplying payslips as proof of income, received the cards yesterday - pretty quick turnaround :)

We have some large expenditures due in a couple of weeks which will make light work not only of the required spend on this card, but also those on Mrs 2tall4Y's ANZ FF Black and Qantas Amex Ultimate cards. 255,000 points across the three cards (including my 20,000 Amex referral bonus) - gotta love the card churning game!

Not an existing Westpac customer, but applied online last week and after sending in payment verification, picked up the cards at a branch yesterday. Quite impressed with how quick the process was (much less painful than HSBC). Now to hit the $2500 spend and cancel.

I saw an "SPG Gold status" offer mentioned above but can't seem to find any info. Did I miss something?

Also opened a reward saver account then applied via the pre-existing customer link. Email has the general terms stating $150 annual fee, however I presume when the cards and letter of offer arrive it will stipulate no annual fee first year?

How'd that work out for you Sharpy? Don't want to open a RSA for no reason if it is no longer any good for the fee avoidance!

Re: Westpac Altitude 50,000 QFF points ($150 annual fee - waived for existing custome

Having applied for the Altitude Black as an existing customer in both my own name and Mrs 2tall4Y's, I can report that neither of us have been charged the annual fee despite none of the documentation from Westpac explicitly mentioning no annual fee in the first year.

Mrs 2tall4Y has had a Westpac Choice account for years, though as detailed upthread, I signed up for the reward saver account just a few days before applying for the card.

Is the fee free in 1st year still open to existing customers (or soon to be current customers ;) )?

I'm looking at both the QFF cards compare site, and the actual Westpac site, showing 2 different thongs.

Westpac:

For anyone who applied for this offer, how long did the points take to post?

Re: Westpac Altitude 50,000 QFF points ($150 annual fee - waived for existing custome

I reached minimum spend on Feb 20th and am still waiting. Hoping to see them with my next statement in a few days, but according to T&C I could have to wait until the May statement.

Applied for and approved for card today, pending pay slips & rental income. Some mentioned earlier that they requested conflicting info, yup: same here.

Fingers crossed the rest of the process is as fast, (or at least faster than Renault getting parts in) as unfortunately my car repairs will take care of that minimum spend :-(

Re: Westpac Altitude 50,000 QFF points ($150 annual fee - waived for existing custome

Applied and approved - needed a new option anyway as ANZ FF are doing away with AMEX.
