What are the Qantas Frequent Flyer "sweet spots"?

One of the fun things about using points for flights is the “sweet spot” — flights for fewer points than one would normally expect or would normally be required. Using Virgin Atlantic points to fly ANA First Class, or to fly Air NZ in Business Class from Perth to NZ (or anywhere in the South Pacific) for 20,000 points are known “sweet spots”. The old pre-devaluation Asia Miles reward of Australia to Europe in Business class for 85,000 points was another (I would also call Qatar Privilege Club’s 90,000 point Business class rewards to Europe a sweet spot, though others might disagree).

Some would also consider flights to Istanbul using, for example, Velocity or KrisFlyer points a “sweet spot”, because you need fewer points to get there than to anywhere else in Europe.

This got me wondering: does Qantas FF have any genuine “sweet spots”? I would probably call using Qantas points for Emirates’ SIN-MEL flight in First Class a sweet spot, not so much because of the number of points required but because of the very low carrier charges and the fact that it’s a daytime flight (I think many of Emirates’ other Fifth Freedom flights are similar).

Over to you: what are your Qantas FF “sweet spots”? Are there any?
