They recently organised a weeding from start to finish. This apprently kept 2 consultants busy for 2 months.

perhaps a dump question, but one i've been dying to ask with reference to the above line, aside from the annual card cost, did you had to pay for the service?

I asked the same question; the cost of the consutlants and the work they did is part of the card fee. Cost of things like the flowers say for the weeding reception were charged to the card member.

I keep getting invitations to upgrade my Amex Gold card to Platinum. I threw another one in the bin last night. The $900 fee is way too much - I could get my company to pay it but it looks difficult to justify when the prime benefit is FF points.

The brochure did not contain any details about their airline partners - e.g. which airlines and what you get. I looked carefully for this info as I wanted to see if they had changed the program. It only advised about the 1.5 reward points. Previous invitations did have more detail, but my recollection was that there were no OneWorld airlines linked to it. Does anyone else know if this is still the case?

I do recall that you can get dinner with the captain if you go on a cruise. Sounds like pure wankery.

The airlines that AMEX platinum offer travel with can change from time to time, but on a recent enquiry I made SYD-LAX/JFK would be with UA. SYD-LHR is Emirates. They also use JAL and, unfortunately for us OneWorld lovers, mainly Star Alliance partners...

You can get 1.5 points per dollar with an Amex Gold Credit Card also. That is not unique to Platinum Charge Card.
