What cheeses me off

I dont blame her, what a pain.

But here is a hint cheap tissues put through the wash create a hell of a mess, but the aloe vera infused Kleenex/Quilton dont disintegrate and pill . So if you are regularly failing to remove tissues before putting clothes in the laundry basket maybe buy the aloe ones which wont be such a drama to deal with post wash.

They're not really tissues. They're napkins I pick up at breakfast or bistros. I have heaps. Usually in my pocket (especially at golf) to wipe glasses.

I'm very forgetful but wife can be really busy and doesn't always thoroughly check every single pocket. Some simply become wet crumpled napkins while others break up into small pieces and go everywhere.

Lazy medical centres that don't send your vaccinations through to MyGov.
Some years ago there were major interoperability issues between MyHR, practice software and other related software. This causes very poor uploading of data by practices to MyHR due to the amount of time it took relative to the consult time.

The issue as far as I can tell has been largely sorted. Could be wrong...
One issue now is the extent MyHR can be relied on because patients can remove records from it.

My local GP has not entered my records. Also y records from my road crash incurring many traumatic injuries has no entries. What is the use of this government gimmick ?

Talking things dental…
WCMO, 18 months ago I sustained a soccer ball to the head (school teacher on playground duty). No argument from Workcover (workers compensation) about concussion. They declined claim for dentist’s visit because I told the GP I was going to the dentist as well; that I hadn’t been directed by the GP to go. Long story short, because I have had the dentist continue to document my injury, (and some other rigmarole) Workcover have agreed to the claim…which starts with $8 000 for the periodontist’s implant plus a couple of thousand more for the dentist’s crown work.

Also WCMO, the GP visit on the day of the original injury, he spent no more than 2 seconds looking in my mouth, without any additional light.

Most Drs don't access MyHR for information . Me included.

MyHR does not upload every file note of every medical /health care visit.
It would / should record with permission a Medicare encounter, discharge summaries, letter, test results.

Overall, it does not have much utility.

IIRC there was a bit of a media storm when it started. As a result, its sparsely populated and isnt part of everyones practice

Flushots and Covid Vaccinations received at chemist and/or Covid Vaccination centre since 2020 all show up.

The flu shot received at a medical centre last year is missing - if earlier vaccinations were uploaded without issue I think it was just laziness on behalf of the medical centre not to upload; as to load 1 vaccination is according my pharmacist very quick.

One issue now is the extent MyHR can be relied on because patients can remove records from it.
The vaccination record in Medicare is different to the My Health Record - so we are not talking about the same thing.

Im opted out of My Health Record; and if any medical practitioner were to upload info i would naturally delete it. I don't trust government to store all sensitive health data in once place for hackers to take.

But sometimes proof of vaccination is needed for travel and as vaccination history cant be used against you for insurance coverage or for blackmail im ok with that being in my gov.

I especially want my Yellow Fever Vaccination uploaded officially as If I ever lose my little yellow vax booklet, I want to be ale to request an official replacement and not have to pay for a redundant vaccination just to get another certificate.

GPs practices do not have to keep your records indefinitely and since the practice where I got my Yellow Fever and Rabies vaccinations is no more; I cant be sure the GPs new practice which I will never attend) will still have my records at some unknown point in future.

They did email me my full vaccination history on Friday arvo and hopefully will comply with my request to upload the Yellow Fever one to MyGov.

May be different on the surface...
The information flow is:
Vaccination
Practice Software entry which can be then be uploaded to MyHR, and Australian immunisation register. It is the AIR which updates MyGov.
Depending on practice software, the practice may need to separately upload to AIR.

If your records are not uploaded check that the provider has reported to AIR. If yes ring 1800653809

The nurse at my clinic asks after each vaccine injection "where would you like it uploaded Medicare or MyHR or both". As I have declined MyHR, I advise just update vaccine record.

They already know your sensitive health data (Medicare - item numbers, PBS - medicines ). As does your pharmac_ business, radiology businesses, pathology businesses, their software, their data centres etc. Not 'trusting' the government with the data is just paranoia about probably the safest link of all in the chain.

MHR allows the individual to view it in one place ( or getting there) and to see if it's correct. Once it gets to your doctor, itbecomes their property; if you want a copy of your results, is up to them ( maybe new rules change that?). And it allows me to keep my own results of blood tests so if I'm traveling, I can produce it if needs be.

Not 'trusting' the guv'mint with health data is about the same as not trusting there tax office with your financial data. 😎

My husband's admissions to hospital (Prince of Wales and others ) are on his record as a new thing . The various reports from the various admissions and follow ups aren't there on My Health

That is only one reason as to why one might decline MyHR. (Although in the case of the poster - that was their reason)

Unfortunately it would be a wrong assumption as to why I have declined. The reason quote never crossed my mind as I am well aware that the govmt will have access to the data somewhere in their various systems and regularly do scans of that data for various reasons.

Still have my vaccination book from British Airways, issued in the eighties, from memory it was all free. Rock up to Regent St, if I remember correctly, no appointment, get a jab and off you went.
Is my Yellow Fever vaccine still valid?

Agree. We were very pissed off when after paying some $600 to a neurologist specialist, she would not give us a copy of her report and marked it so the GP could only read it to us and not print a copy for our records. Where do so specialists get off on this stuff.
