What cheeses me off

I put them in the dryer which gets rid of a lot of the fluff then use a clothes brush then rewash and repeat (if necessary). You can use cold air in the dryer if heat too strong for the clothes
Sadly the washing machine at my rental has very limited options. Of course I have about three clothes brushes at home so I probably will have to go out and buy another one. The people at work are going to get lots of freebies when I leave here.

The laborious job of sticky tape?

One can’t believe the moronic News Corp “journalist” who is so incompetent to write a scary article that Trump’s tariff on US imports will raise the price of Australian supermarket beef from $50 to $100! Jeez.

Agreed, the article is simple click bait scare mongering. For example:
Tammi Jonas (spokesperson for the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance) said:
The likelihood of Australian exporters shifting to Asian markets is pretty high and if you can get more overseas, why would you not?”
“But as more of our beef goes overseas, supply shrinks here so local consumers pay more.
There'll be no general price increase.

If they could get higher prices now, they would already be doing so.

Generally, reducing the market means reducing demand means reducing prices.

Interesting article on the ABC site. Apparently USA beef imports are not banned at all - as long as the supply chain can prove that it is beef born, raised and slaughtered in the US. The restriction is due to Canadian and Mexican beef being imported into the USA and being 'lost' in the US system due to lack of tracking systems. The US apparently wanted Canadian & Mexican beef to be treated as US origin. Does one hand know waht the other is doing.

"However, the US has not commenced trade under these terms and has requested to expand its access to include beef products sourced from cattle from Mexico and Canada and legally imported into the US for export to Australia."

The other point raised is that US beef is too expensive for it to be competitively imported.

Yes I heard this on the radio. It's the US who won't comply with our biosecurity arrangements. So not banned. Just needs tracing and paperwork. Banned sounds much more palatable to him though.

The fat content of US beef is too high for hamburgers apparently and that's why they need our beef. Ain't going to be pretty for them.

It's all about Mad Cow Disease (BSE) and tracking. USA import beef from Mexico and Canada which are not guaranteed BSE free and there is no effective product tracking in USA. Australia does not buy US beef because of the lack of transparency being BSE free. My understanding is it is not the Australian market the US wants but the greater markets of Japan and Korea. If US can say that Australia is willing to buy US beef then it opens up these markets to the US.

Also doesn’t taste as good as Aussie beef!

Basically look at the purchase price of same property. Unfortunately, I think you will find the answer there.
I know the cause and it's not due to anything in Australia.

Property sales and rentals are heavily influenced by overseas factors especially money laundering mainly from corruption.

Why? I'm seeing 2 bedroom units for rent >$800/week. There is zero need to sell out Australia. All they are doing is heavily inconveniencing Australians. And then people wonder why I don't bother taking voting seriously.

I washed a brand-new black windcheater with two pairs of black trousers and I’ve obviously left a tissue in there and there is white lint over everything. I re-washed everything and it still hasn’t done anything. Grrrr 😖

There are apparently some lint removing balls you can buy on Amazon. Any feedback on those would be appreciated.
I find the sticky roller works well

Except that the US can do that paperwork for Japan and does export considerable quantities of beef there.
Beef and beef products must be derived from: 1) Cattle that were born, raised, and slaughtered in the U.S. or from cattle that are legally imported from countries eligible to export to Japan listed on the FSIS Export Library criteria. 2) Imported meat destined for shipment to Japan must come from meat that is legally imported from countries that are eligible to export to Japan listed on the FSIS Export Library criteria.

The explanation I had was they could not guarantee source of carcass as their tracking is completely hopeless.
OT, IIRC Australia uses a Bitcoin based software that accurately tracks every carcass and guarantees provinance.

WCMO - Hong Kong Airport - Transfers - serious PITA - how prehistoric! Give me Changi any day of the week
What part of the process sets you off?

I'm sure they haven't changed in a long time, but for me they were pretty standard and OK. It does get trying when the transfer points get slammed (where in this case the small numbers of machines per transfer point are a bit annoying, and there's no priority lanes).

For 3 out of 4 terminals at Changi, it's all just security at gate anyway, with its warts, so if you're saying that's godly compared to HKG's transfer points, then HKG has got a serious problem.

The new trend that I’ve had at the last couple of places where pillow slips don’t have that little extra piece of fabric. I know I’m not explaining myself very well, but it just means the pillows slip out of the case. If anybody can describe that extra piece of fabric or what I’m trying to say so I can actually ask my landlord for decent slipsIMG_0133.jpeg
