What do flight attendants think of you?

Just found this article about what FA's think of passengers, I must say that as often as I fly, I always pay attention to the safety Briefing and will take my headphones off when talking to a FA, the other thing I try to do is make eye contact and address them by their name. We often think that if we have seen the briefing lots we just ignore, it go,s to show that it pisses flight attendants.

Well after they have known me for a few minutes they would think-What a lovely fellow.:lol:Reminds me of that Tony Hancock!:p:shock:

But then they would add if only he lost 30 kilos and 30 years he would be perfect.:oops:;):lol:
 
Does everyone always say "Thanks!" as they leave the plane? I know I do, even if I am being ignored (which happens rarely I must say).

I'd thank the pilots but they are not normally accessible except on a prop plane maybe.
 
Who cares? I'm always polite, say thanks and wish all FAs I see a Good Day on the way out. In the end the interactions are so minimal (except maybe F or J cabins on long haul) that it would be difficult for me to develop an opinion of them or vice versa.

Yeah, I usually do this. Politeness, and I've heard that FAs genuinely appreciate it. Level of appreciation is going to vary amongst said FAs of course.
 
I'd say a lot of FAs really do care, but can quickly lose interest when treated with little respect/rudely.

It's a job that quickly builds self confidence and a thick skin... Not for everyone. It's not a hard job, but after a while some people just have had enough and need to move on.

A 'thanks *name*' (with genuine eye contact) is the best ever reward. The worst feeling is getting ignored when saying goodbye to someone.

Who cares what FAs think of passengers? They are there to work and serve, not form opinions on the passengers. Do you think waiters care what customers think of them?

I would argue that although it forms the majority of their work, the serving is a secondary function of their job.

Have to agree with this. Doesn't make sense signalling out one from all the others in the supply chain.
 
I hope they think I am OK.

I try to assist where possible, listening to safety briefings, handing them safety cards when I am in row 4/row 23, try to stay out of their way and if I see the interaction is good have had some really good chats with flights attendants/CSMs. I always say thank you and try to say thank you on the way out.

Ocassionally things do not go as planned and hope I have not been out of line. Yes I know it is their job but no need to treat them badly.
 
I guess the CX ones think I'm ok. On the last TPE run, I was asked to fill out the survey for 3 out of the 4 legs.

No - But we aren't directly with them anyway for 1/3/+7 ect. hours...

I always try to be polite, smile and if I need anything, cut to the chase and try & make there job easier... Cause I'm sure they deal with some not-so-great people amongst there travels, Day in, Day out

A little help can go a long way - Not only for them, but perhaps them too :)
