Hi

I am curious as to what sites / apps you use to track / keep a record of your various flights ?

Came across Flightmemory.com here but is there any alternative / better option at all ?

Thanks in advance

I use Flight memory, and it suits me but I don't think there's a hell of a lot between them.

I'm sure there will be others quickly pointing to AFF Flight Tracker! Anyone know if I can export from FM into AFF FT?

(ps FM came into its own when I recently had to apply for a Russian visa and they wanted all the countries I had visited in the past 10 years, with dates!!)

I use FlightMemory as well. The other one I played around with is OpenFlights.org; but could not manage having to keep multiple sites up-to-date; so have stuck with FlightMemory.

To be honest, I sort of (sorry) overlooked our own Flight Tracker.

I had a look after creating the thread and found it quite OK and had opened a private account !

Out of interests, why would you choose FlightMemory over AFF's Flight Tracker ?

I spent quite bit of time earlier this year entering a lifetime's worth of flight data into Flight Memory (boy, did that test my memory, and while there is some educated guesswork in there I reckon it is accurate to within around 5% or better)...AFF Flight tracker (AFAIK) did not exist under that name at the time and I was unaware of alternatives. Given admin has posted that importing data into AFF Flight tracker is easy (no way I was going to manually re-enter it all ), I'll check out Flight Tracker and consider doing that. I certainly don't mind Flight Memory though.

If you have an issue with the import send me a PM and I'll try and sort it out. Its usually pretty straightforward, but sometimes there are some issues with the format of the date. Pretty easy to fix.

Flight Diary caught my eye with all the graphics and what not and OpenFlights deterred me because it wouldn't accept flights that didn't have a specific date. Once I'm doing with exams I'm going to entertain the idea of switching to AFF's flight tracker (OpenFlights) or Flight Memory as the statistics tools just make me drool.

I didn't know there was an AFF Flight Tracker. I'm currently using FlightDiary; my only complaint is that it won't let me enter the SYD-TGN flights I did on ZL in the 90s.

At one stage I was using Flight Memory, Flight Diary and OpenFlights. I ended up just keeping OpenFlights as the interface was nice and I was interested in one day hosting my flights on my own website. Flash forward to now and AFF has basically done exactly that, so I'm using both OpenFlights proper and AFF Flight Tracker, but may switch to just AFF towards the end of the year.

Need to fly more and crawl back up the leader boards though!

The hardest step is getting the data out of flight memory but even I managed to get it right eventually.

As did I, after removing a few airports from Flight Memory that AFF Flight Tracker didn't have (BQB/SFP/etc) finally got everything imported.

Flightdiary at the moment, but looking at the AFF tracker.

I don't mind flightdiary and it was a good introduction, you can't do a terrible lot with it though.

I'm trying to track down info for flights taken in my lifetime, anything pre 2007 Is proving hard! I started my love of flying on the Saab - 340, 727 and BAe 146!

Also trying to chase down regos for flights taken overseas as I didn't start logging these until last year.

On another thread I got alerted to the ability to request your 'movement records' from the Fed Govt (see post #12 and on) : http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/suggestions-and-feedback/aff-flight-tracker-50925-2.html

This is the link to the records request page.

Movement Records - Monitoring People Movement - Border Security

You only get back the port of departure and arrival, and the dates, and the flight number. I am hoping Aust Archives will get me the arrival card, where I've declared where I've come from and where I've spent most time abroad.

Well the data importation (from Flight Memory to AFF Flight Tracker)was as easy as admin said it would be, now just have to tweak a few interesting 'conversions' that happened during the process. e.g. I apparently have had 6 flights with Thai Airways Cargo, (was Thai), and have also graced that bastion of African carriers TAAG of Angola (was TAA) a number of times.

I like flight memory's layout, which I prefer to Open flights. But then I've never actually used the latter, so what can I say! Great fun logging our flights like this, I especially like seeing all those little lines crisscrossing the globe!
