I am booking a QF flight from JNB-MEL in September.
The ticket for flight QF304 JNB-PER, connecting through to MEL on QF608 and QF690 (via ADL), is selling for ZAR7230+tax, and is marked as 'Flexi Saver'; which, according to the fare conditions is classed as 'discount economy' for status credit earn.
I understand flexi-saver is usually B or K, and would therefore earn 0.5 SC on the international leg, but 1.0 SC on the domestic leg.
a) Is there any way I can find out the fare class of a 'Flexi Saver' for sure before providing my CC number and getting a booking?
b) Does a B or K fare still earn full SC if connecting from an international flight?
I hope so - it's the difference between 90 and 55 SC!

Internationally , whether it is B or K will make no difference to Status Credit earning since both earn at the discount economy level

ONLY Y basis economy fares will earn at the full economy level

Thanks for your help.
What I am interested in is the SC earn on the domestic legs of the flight. Will they only earn discount economy rates - being part of an international booking - or will they earn full economy rates as would any HBKY fare domestically?

On Australian domestic flights, Y, B, H and K all receive full economy status credits. It makes no difference if its part of an international itinerary, or even if using domestic legs of international flights (i.e. flight number <QF400).

flexi Saver from Singapore is H class.

H K and B on QF are very useful if credited to AA however - especially long haul flights as they accrue full mileage and points..

Hopefully the JNB-PER code share flight would equally credit.

Happy wandering

Sorry Fred but according to AA.com
Flight mileage may not accrue on flights operated by carriers other than oneworld carriers.

Qantas Airways

There are some who would vehemently avoid flying South African Airways (QF codeshare or not).

One must do what one must do, especially for R7000 and where one is chasing SCs, but one will regret the flight once one has completed said flight...

So, does "H" when travelling on an AA flight number, whether QF or AA metal, earn you Y SCs?

If its a QF-operated Australian domestic flight using AA flight number, then H = full economy SC and 1 point/mile.

If its a QF-operated international flight using AA flight number, then H = discount economy SCs and 1 point/mile.
