So it appears that VH-VPH flew into LAX last Friday and hasn't left. It's causing big delays in VA's schedule and now my flight VA23 from MEL to LAX on Monday has been changed from a 11:20AM departure to a 7:50PM departure even though the metal comes in at 5:50PM a full day earlier? It's also screwed with my connections.

If they anticipate VH-VPH to be out of the air for over a week there must be something significantly wrong with it?

Regards,
CJ

Perhaps we'll never find out the real cause, but I wouldn't have thought you could fly the aircraft to Victorville if there had been fuel contamination. It would not be contained to one tank, or set of plumbing.

I doubt it. Unless there is an investigation into the incident which there doesn't seem to be.

There are multiple data sources both subscriber based and one-off purchases for interested parties. There are probably some no costs ones too, but the subscription services generally have machine readable data and is more reliably accessed. A good starting point for aviation data is the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). See: Home Page - ICAO Data+.
Data based analyses can provide more defensible conclusions that simple assertion. A data window of three or four years should provide credible results.

Savage words for the poster who assumes they have to seek an alternative to a small airline who has the audacity to fix a plane and keep their passengers safe from a potential incident.

You know what I see?

I see nothing more than an airline who, for whatever reason - has grounded an aircraft. Yes, people were inconvenienced. And yes, we here are chomping at the bit - waiting for something official from VA that would cement our hypothesis.

In the absence of that, I can only assume it is information that is not required to be made public. And that the aircraft in question is receiving the necessary attention it requires to fly again.

I would rather be inconvenienced on the ground while VA do whatever they have to do to make things right. I shudder at the alternative.

I notice today that VA8 (LAX-BNE) has been cancelled but VA6 (same route) is flying on the same schedule.

It's going to end up that from LAX "today" 3rd July ... There are two LAX - BNE Services

VA6 at 9:05AM - operated by VH-VPF (currently en-route)
VA8 at 10:30PM - operated by VH-VPH
