I'm about to cancel a Qantas Hotels booking made with a $100 QF hotel voucher. Does anyone have experience with what happens to the voucher once you cancel? Does it return to you, or do you lose the voucher?

Some have been able to retain voucher by chnag8ng the booking i.e ew dates rather than cancelling.
I assume only change the dates with the same property? Wondering if I could change the property and dates to keep the voucher...kinda sucks that you lose it.

The vouchers themselves are “non-refundable” but we’ve received points for some cancellations in the past. Not sure if that was a Covid thing.

I change properties often without issue.

There are times when I don't have firm dates but the voucher is about to expire so I book refundable hotels for some random date in future and then when trip dates are locked in I call and change dates and property if necessary.

They don't usually ask for a reason but plans have changed is a very acceptable reason. You do not need to provide any further details.

Thanks for that info. Do you call QH Hotels or the property?

An update on this thread. I did call QF Hotels and was able to change the date of the booking and only had to pay an additional $20 to account for the new room rate. Glad I didn’t lose the $100 voucher.
Were you able to change the property?
