I answered Yes as we only request Housekeeping every second day but we don't usually eat at the hotel so a food and beverage credit could be wasted.

Wouldn’t that be a “No” ( i.e., you would not accept the F&B credit in lieu of housekeeking, as the credit could be wasted). Or did I get that wrong?

Well at a hotel we frequent not only do I get the 250 SPG points but each day they leave new water and the night time choccies.Win,win.

Yeh, nah not for me.
I want clean towels, fresh sheets and my room to be spotless.
I saw this offer a few months ago at a place I was staying, can’t remember where.
I’m one of those people who hates the Environmental Card thing in hotels. I always have fresh everything, every day.

What type of ‘hotels’ do you stay at??

The last couple have been in the Hilton group. The Hampton by Hilton in Newcastle UK got a very long email from me and to give him his due he responded to each comment and gave me lots of HH points as compensation.

We already choose not to have room cleaned daily. May as well get something for that choice.

A few years ago, the Sheraton Puerto Rico offered 500 SPG points for each day the room wasn't cleaned...as I was trying to scrape as much AA points as possible to book award flights to Tahiti, we forego room service for a week....we just grabbed 2 new towels after every 2 days....the room was worse than a pigsty when we checked out but we flew J class on Air Tahiti Nui to Papeete :)

In a lot of hotels I’ve seen this (spg) it is all or nothing - don’t like that.

In a small number - it still involved making your bed and removing rubbish - that i’m happy with - don’t need sheets and towels changed every day, I don’t need the room vacuumed and bathroom cleaned every day, but I do want my bed made every day and rubbish bins emptied.

A number of you have referenced SPG for an experience similar to this. The hotel we are in, is also an SPG (Sheratin).

It's $10/day f&b credit at The Swanston in Melbourne. Just me, three towels in the bathroom when I arrive so I don't really need the room servicing every day. I'm saving my employer the $10 when I make use of it but I'm also saving the laundering of towels and possibly sheets that just don't need it. It's a more environmental than economic decision.
