What is happening here: Aircraft parked tail to tail?

I was leaving Brisbane last week when taxiing I noticed two planes tail to tail outside my window. I have attached a photo of this and wondered if any member knows what is going on?

They were still there today too. A few QF 737's sitting off the tarmac area all closed up and clearly not in use as well. Personally never seen that in Brisbane before.
 
Aren’t these Clive Palmer’s Minerology MD-82 jets? Or ownership unknown hence they remain parked.
 
Also if you look closely as you take off from an A seat (from the opposite end of the city) there is a small plane almost in the water
