QF: I've personally had 500,000 and no more because I keep spending them!
What's the highest amount of points balance you've seen on your FF program?

Well I got to 500000 points once-golden wings in September 2001.i have vowed never to be there again:(

Personal about 230k and getting back to that level again.

Two of my bosses have over 2 million QFF each, plus I think some on Amex as well

I have never exceeded 500K QF points. Last year used 280K for an award F class SYD-SFO, and have just booked another two F award seats (168K QF points) for SYD-LAX-ORD and (140K) for SFO-SYD. About 10 years ago three of my friends were diagnosed with various forms of the Big "C" and are okay now, but that made me think about things so I use the points when they build up enough for a "good" trip. I know some people do it, but I would never use points for a domestic flight.

On a different level, a good mate owned a hotel until recently and alhtough probably not the right thing to do according to the T&C, he put all his purchases for the pub on a card. He has over 4 million QF points, and lost 2.7 million Ansett points when they went under in 2001. (another reason to use them)

I don't think QF will go down, but then again, I don't think anybody thought AN was going to go down too! I like the idea of using them as quick as you can earn them :D Why save them for a rainey day ... everyday is a rainey day :)

I had around 400,000 QFF points before booking 2 Oneworld Awards in economy for 280,000 QFF points.

Use 'em, or lose 'em!
I went down with Ansett also! (and Qantas helped bring me home, as I was overseas at the time on a RTW :D)

Not sure how many points I had at the time, but I redeemed 910,000 QFF points in one transaction once (7 x OneWorld awards).

Never had more than 200 000 but I found I could spend them a lot quicker than I could earn them!

Thankfully I never earned a point with Ansett but I knew there'd be plenty of tales of woe here.

I'm currently sitting on about 800K which is the most I've ever had in there. I don't like the idea of "banking" too many points due to the "Ansett fear" as many have identified, so I'll probably burn some soon for an award booking. Otherwise I use them for domestic and international upgrades.

Hi all,

Currently just over 1.1M points but they are going to leave me soon for 2 F RTW redemptions.

I burn quite a few on J flights domestically.

In the first 4 days of the 5k/5t promo, Amex paid 5000 per transaction when Vodphone accepted 1c pays, Telstra $1.50 pays and another telco $1 pays. I think a few got lotsa points

But then all those points were taken away again.

Back in the Early days of Qantas/Telstra/ANZ Visa, I had over 2¼ Million which converted to ~510K QFF and I had over 600K.

A few of the 37,500 Round Oz Business trip and a First Class to SIN scooped a few of those.

Mrs Djf has 300k, including some transferred over from me, and I have about 150k AA, which are both being built up so that they can go towards future J OW RTWs. A mate of mine has about a million, but that's about as high as I've seen myself.

7 x Oneworld awards NM? Seven people on one trip, or seven trips planned in advance? Either way, mightily impressive. :)

Probably best to post what you received rather than what may or may not be "myth".

Also it was 1000points per tx & the like depending which promo you were in.

Back on the OP.

In Amex MR about 2.7 million as a peak. About 2 million now.

In QF I currently have about 700K which is also a peak.

SQ and BMI have a bit in them.

Trying hard to whittle things down with 8 recent J redemptions now booked internationally, but the last 3 years have been amazing for Point Running (to various programs) including the KF promo finishing next week....and so points keep rolling in.;)

Nice problem to have. But yes am aware of risks of devaluing, programs ceasing etc.

In my case I was fortunate to redeem 500,000 points from Ansett two weeks before they collapsed on SQ who then honored the redemption even though flights were not till the Xmas afterwards.

Serfty's right.

In the 1st few days, points were awarded by computer errors and went to airlines where they stayed.
