There is often discussion here about lounge attire and many different views on what is appropriate.

So what is the best and worst clothing you have seen?

Oh all right, I'll kick it off.:p

MEL F lounge last Friday. Chap in t-shirt, shorts and thongs (which were 'kicked off' his feet) and a tatt of a comely semi-naked female on his right calf. I make no judgment on his choice of attire, but it is definitely the most casual wear I've seen in MEL/SYD flounges.

If he was a rock star, famous actor, completely excusable tho.. but in any other case.. get dressed!

While the crew was lovely, and the flights only a few minutes late, I think I'll stick with QFLink... though Jetstar were very efficient wih overhead lockers and cabin announcements, a certain older brother could learn a few things.

I like how either the ground staff member of the cabin crew member on the boarding gate is responsible for (and strictly enforces) ensuring that passengers only have 2 items, saves a lot of time on-board. I especially like the cabin baggage announcement before boarding, I like announcing it too ;)

"Ladies and Gentlemen may I have your attention please. Jetstar will shortly commence boarding for Jetstar flight JQxx_ through to xx_xx_xx_. Please be aware that any excess or oversize cabin baggage may not be able to travel with you on this flight, your cabin baggage should comprise of one main piece to be stowed in the overhead compartments and one smaller item which must be stowed under the seat in front of you. If you do have any excess or oversize cabin baggage please see Jetstar staff immediately at gate number XX to ensure that your baggage travels with you on this flight."

*Is it sad that I can quote all of these announcements verbatim?

The best would have to be people wearing suits or really nice casual clothing.

The worst would have to be t-shirt (no collar), shorts and thongs. Very appropriate at home, at the beach. Comfortable? I don't buy that argument. Singlet and speedos are probably more comfortable but there is a time and place just not in a lounge.

Re: What is the best and worst clothing you've seen someone wear in an airline lounge

One day was in QF lounge and notice a couple who brought their teenage kids with them.

Daughter had barely any clothes on - or what she had on considerably shrunk in the wash. Skirt was that short you could see her bum cheeks, it wasn't pleasant.

Son - clearly couldn't pull his pants up, looked like he spent time in gang warfare. Thing that topped it off was the flanno shirt.

Both children (and will call them that!) had next to no manners and couldn't show respect to their parents, their mouth was so foul that even though I was in the quiet section of the lounge, I could still hear them and watched in amusement when everyone turned around and stared when they caused an episode in the lounge.

That is certainly more entertainment than the usual masses at the boarding gate..

Best: Outfits usually worn by travelling female executives almost of a certain age - who tend to dress ... just a little foxier than usual.
Worst: Singlet, shorts and thongs worn by anyone of any gender.

Not in my books, same rules apply to all, even those that may contribute a little less to society!!!

Pants down......

Went to the loo....opened the door to see a lady there......sitting with pants down.

Awkward.....

Re: What is the best and worst clothing you've seen someone wear in an airline lounge

Now I will admit I have never been in any of the Lounges, but why is it so bad the people wear shorts & thongs ? i would have thought if you spend the money it takes to grant access it would not matter ??

Re: What is the best and worst clothing you've seen someone wear in an airline lounge

There's the subjective reasons (people should dress better, don't want to see peoples' feet/toes/etc) - and frankly if you're in an evacuation situation on board, you'll want some proper shoes on.

Do men's and women's sandles and women's "shoes", high-heels etc, which often expose toes fall into this category too then? The point being, it's not just thongs that expose feet/toes.

Again - the answer is subjective, so there won't be any correct answer to that question.
