What is the most visually impressive mountain range in the world?

Caucuses are impressive as a long straight range of snow capped peaks.

Depends where you see them from. Are you hiking through them or flying over them.

Ones I found spectacular flying over South Island of NZ, The Andes. Iraq and the Alps

I thought Denali and the Alaskan mountains were impressive the four times I viewed them on my ITM-JFK return (dont ask about why I got to enjoy the view 4 times )

If flying it depends what you are flying in. A Cessna through the Wrangells into Kennecott was awesome.

Probably nothing in Oz. The Canadian Rockies are pretty good up close.

I need to continue my exploration of this planet before I get too old to try and answer the question for myself.

However they all have their appeal from different viewpoints and methods of viewing, walking, driving, lookouts, helicopter, over flying.

Closer to home IMHO the great dividing range has some stunning views here and there.

Elsewhere over the years been through & over various parts of the Andes from Ecuador to Chile and various parts of the Rockies, over South Alps of NZ. As well as places/ranges like Lesotho, Drakensberg, Sierra Madre, Appalachian, Meteora, Dinaric range, Huang Lien Son, Pennines, Yushan, Mantiqueira, Taurus, among others. They all had their own charm for different reasons.

Sadly due to a propensity for altitude sickness that manifested seriously at lake Titicaca the GP has recommended against travel to the Himalayas and try and keep my travels below 3.5-4k altitude (unless in a plane ).

I havent told him about Switzerland in 2025
