AA v. QF

Quite frankly I have travelled on many airlines, and I dont have a problem with QF foods, in fact i think they are among the best airline foods I have had. Try travelling the american airlines and then you have reason to complain... i travel 10 months of the year and I certainly find qantas airline food among the best in the world!!!!

 AA food is GOOD - I was not ordered my no red meat or cheese meal by Qantas on a trip to Boston from LA and the sweetie hastess went and got me a Smoked Salmon dish from 1st. You can't get much better than that. Their salad dressings beat QF any day, and all with a smile  [/b]

Worst snack on QF

Chick peas! I hate chick peas! Under 2 small pieces of chicken(?) the rest of the container held chickpeas, cucumber and capsicum. And the bread rolls are so cold and floury.
I will request a Fruit Meal from now on. (have been meaning to do this for the last year, but never remember until I see what they are handing out)
Oatmeal cookie and dried apricots last Tuesday afternoon SYD to ADL were great!

Qantas is bringing back hot meals on Domestic flights
I have always had hot meals on QF domestic flights... even between melb & syd and vice versa. I believe United now do a flight from syd/melb/bris to lax/sfo whereby you need to by your food enroute or b4 you board. I was surprised as I am flying them in November so will let you know then if in fact it is true.. I booked thru the flight centre and my itineray had food to purchase on it!! so i enquired and was told that united to usa is the same as virgin here in australia. so i guess thats something to look forward to. QF food just got better to me!!!!!

I flew SYD/MEL/SYD yesterday by QF. Dinner was a hot Penne pasta. But as I had a great lunch I gave it a miss.

Incidentally, there was a two hour delay (after we boarded the plane) on depature from Melbourne as they were trying to trace some service records. The 6 pm flight reached Sydney a 9.20. Then as there was a shower and storms outside, the airport workers were not permitted to come out and help for safety reasons. Another 20 minutes for the storm to calm down.
On departure from Sydney, there was a one hour delay. Without realising I booked in a domestic leg of an international flight and only realised when I printede the itinerary. So it was a one-hour-before check-in. We boarded the plane in time, but had to wait in the plane for an hour as they had to take out a bag belonging to a passenger who went missing!

What a day!

Are they prepared the night before or 6 hours before check-in?

The rolls are no longer soggy but they do taste a bit old - almost stale :(
For my last two flights the box is gone & replaced by a clever package. I had the cookies (moist & yummy) for one and the meat salad roll for a lunch flight on the other.
I guess we're a hard lot to please.

My last trip was to Melbourne on Monday. The choice of an apple or muesli bar may have been OK for an 1100 flight, except it left at 1230. Nuff said.
