What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Worth mentioning the additional 2 A320’s arriving to VARA are ex-Tiger aircraft.
VH-VKQ (ex-VNO with Tigerair Australia) just landed in PER not long ago.

Will likely undergo preparations for entry into service with VARA shortly.

VKQ (VNO) was stored in MPL (France) for 18 months.

Airbus A320 ex-9V-TAK, VH-VNK (currently OE-IMY) has flown out of storage in CRK.

No rego yet (or whether it reacquires the VNK rego), but is set to be the 2nd A320 on its way to PER for VARA ops.

And adding a little wait will be Bonza later this tear initially flying twice weekly CFS-MCY
Low Yield Beach Market to a constant flickering 'Low/High' Beach Market.

Can't see that working either unless if some connecting traffic has xx_-MCY-CFS & v.v on their itinerary. Fortunately (the limited, if any) connecting traffic has an easier job of collecting baggage and re-checking as baggage collection and check-in halls are next to each other at MCY.

Aircraft may had been better used boosting one of the East Coast - Denpasar frequencies.
It was an F100, was it not?

A320 way too big for this service. Which IIRC was largely supported by a travel agent.

Haven’t seen it reported yet, but VA’s “set your sights overseas sale” is showing flights from Brisbane & Sydney to Apia, Samoa and Brisbane to Port Vila, Vanuatu resuming from March 2023.

Nonstop flights between the Gold Coast and Denpasar are also available for booking from March 2023.

Edit: Australian airport announces direct flights to Bali for first time ever

This is rather exciting and I hope it does well. I can see a daily flight from late march which I'm not sure is the norm or just peak times? The flight has a rather good 5:40pm departure from the Gold Coast arriving into Bali at 10:15pm. The way back is an annoying 11:15pm to 7am+1 flight. Lite fares round trip start at ~$400.

Interesting to see the absence of 'Queensland Government' and 'AAIF' references from the OOL-DPS announcement. Local Paper Columnists would've been complaining about 'subsidising bogans' to Bali otherwise.

VA have quite obviously decided the East Coast is where there International operations are at, shame they decided to pull out of Port Hedland which had been operated even in Skywest days & no future prospects they will return to PER - DPS. JQ is a fierce competitor on the route but return $349 - $399 would be compelling to capture the mid market, premium & mining crowd.
