What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

First leg of delivery for VH-8IA loaded in.

No word on the first commercial flight yet?

So now confirmed that the max is the same as IJQ, IWQ. Bit disappointing it’s coming with no divider, and minus wifi. Another Virgin half job.

Be good if they can start replacing these new seats across the fleet. 50AA4954-E699-44C3-AE66-64DE888E6B59.jpeg

I think the comment around tight spacing is correct. Does seem tight.
That only applies to the Silk aircraft. The MAX galleys are the same size as the existing fleet, you can tell by the window alignments. Legacy 800s & MAX: left side, no windows blocked immediately next to the door. Right side, 1 window blocked. Silk 800s: left side, 1 window blocked next to the door. Right side, 2 windows blocked.

It's all very well having discussions about the aircraft but according to the west Australian Newspaper, it is alleged that VA seem to have another issue of staff calling in sick and hence flights being cancelled. AT Perth T1 on Monday early morning, the VA system seems to fail and flights were cancelled. I hope that with the new aircraft etc there is not going to be issues with staff and IT!

I think that is an industry wide issue. Weekend mornings are generally the worst, the last 6am JQ flight I took from Melbourne on the Sunday, the ground guy said 20% of pilots called in sick that Sunday morning. About 1 in 4 flights before 9am had been cancelled, lucky I wasn’t.

It's not a VA only issue, all airlines have staffing issues across the board right now in Australia, this is well known within the industry and an ongoing issue.
You'll likely see cancellations continue for a while to come until this improves, no matter who you are flying with.

There’s tonnes of on/off industrial action happening at Virgin as well, a lot of ‘sympathy’ votes being spun around amongst staff in line with what their engineers are fighting for. A lot of anti Bain rhetoric as well interestingly in the pre-sale process.

I believe WA is especially affected according to my contacts still there.

Sickness, fatigue, ATC disrupts, long working hours, non ideal play etc etc. We try but when we're tired then we pull the plug. Gotta look after ourselves when the company doesn't 🥹

Engineer industrial action right now and pretty soon, cabin crew 😎
Sounds like you may need a change of employer.

I hear QF really look after their staff, hmm. Then there's rex, bonza oh JQ.
