What is you favorite drink in lounge?

In order of preference

1. Orange Juice

2. English Toffee and Peppermint tea (in QF Dom J lounge)

3. Lavender and mint tisane (in DJ Dom lounge)

4. Lemongrass & Ginger tisane (in QF Int F lounge)

Yes! Love the humble OJ.
Anything Mint is a real balm on a hectic travel day. The Lavender & Mint tisane is surprisingly nice.
And enjoy my lemon lime & bitters too. A go anywhere drink!
Anytime, water with a slice of lemon is a graceful drink.

Champagne. I'm fine with Moet, but hate Perrier Jouet.

Have done random wines (esp. in AA lounges) rather than random sparkling.

And if motion sickness is making its presence felt, then ginger ale or peppermint tea. Or the LAX T4 bartender tummy settling trick - bitters, soda water, and perhaps a dash of lemonade. The Aangel in the Flagship lounge told me about it in April.

This thread has me thinking,

Mrs Shelf bought some Vodka last week, whilst returning from PEK/HKG. We have tomato juice, celery and tabasco in the kitchen...

For me it depends on the lounge and my upcoming flight.

QF Domestic lounges - depends if I am driving at the other end. If not driving, usually a beer or two (Fat Yak, Blue Tongue, Crown) and occasionally a scotch/dry.
QF International J lounge - Juice, Sparkling water. Perhaps a beer.
QF F Lounge - Champagne - sample a few on offer
BA F Lounge - scotch/ice (JW Blue, Talliska etc)
JL F Lounge - scotch/ice (as many different selections as I have time)
CX HKG Lounges - champagne or scotch/ice

Domestic: Little Creatures Pale Ale on tap at PER

Into: French Bubbly (Bolly, Pol Roger, Moet, etc)

Veuve vote. Last visit to the F lounge was at 8am, Mr AirKat had coffee... waste... mentioned to him I should have guested someone else!

Of course, I completely forgot, San Pellegrino :p

A world without fizzy water isn’t a world I want to live in!

In domestic lounges my favourite drink is a Pure Blonde, followed by another Pure Blonde, followed by another Pure Blonde but I am now experimenting and seeing if vodka and orange puts on as much weight as a low carb beer so I will limit myself to 1-2 Pure Blondes until I prove that theory wrong.

Internationally I try not to have too many drinks before a long haul flight. Plenty of opportunity to partake at the destination. If I do have a drink in the lounges it will usually be one beer followed by some vodka and oranges or some Baileys depending on the mood.

Although that being said in the Qantas SYD F lounge I try to sample the champagnes on offer simply to re-affirm to myself that I am not missing out on anything. ;)

Is this the AFD thread??? Good. My name is Mr Moody and I have been a lounge alcoholic for 15 years. Here is my litany of shame.

International - champagne (or equivalent) in the morning, with tomato juice every 4th drink to give my liver a break. Beer after midday, unless there is no sparkling available or my times zones are truly out of whack, but preference for local beer if possible. Exception is to have Gin & Tonic if travelling in summer with the wife, but that's not too often.

Domestic - coffee (hopefully barista) and tomato juice before opening hours, local beer afterwards unless the scrum for the bar is manic or my bladder has cried enough, in which case a glass of shiraz is the alternative. Never do G&T domestically as they don't mix them how I like them!

I have always admired those that consume champers for breekie.................
I thought it was only a breakfast drink? ;) (and it's *always* after midday *somewhere* in the world!)

I'm quite happy quaffing Bollinger Rosé wherever it's available (not very often in the MEL or SYD lounges anymore, but has been on tap in the BA T5 GF lounges recently). Taittinger in the MEL/SYD F Lounge, or if i'm feeling boozy, Gin Fizzes (a small splash of Tanqueray No. 10 in my Taittinger).

I don't spend any time in the QF Domestic lounges anymore as i've moved everything to DJ, so it's usually just the quiet Asahi for me there (the red used to be spectacular when they re-launched the lounges, but they've gone way downhill since).

My first choice too...................................or was it gin...I always confuse the two. The one I like doesn't have bubbles. mmmmm maybe it was the gin. :p

If I am by myself in the QP or JLounge (Dom or Int) G&T all the way. It's a drink I typically only drink whilst waiting in lounges so I've come to associate it with exploring the world.

If in FLounge, I'll drink what ever the others are drinking (and recommending) as I'm not exactly a champagne connoisseur. (It's sweet, bubbly and socially acceptable to drink before midday, plus the champagne options in the FLounge do not taste like white wine with added bicarb)

Tony, how did I know you would be an active poster in this thread? :D

This afternoon in the SYD domestic Business Lounge I am drinking Lemon Lime & Bitters.
