What will you do?

Someone suggested a poll in the other thread, so I thought I would have a go.

What is your intention regarding your QFF membership given the latest changes? Staying or leaving?

And to avoid those who just come in and vote they're leaving, the poll is public.

Staying

QF will always be the best airline, they may not run it as efficient as it should be, but loyalty is the word I like to use.

Already swapped all my CC's to SQ/VA before the devaluation. I don't fly QF a lot anyway, used to get all my SC with QR.. Will maintain my QR gold now..

I will be earning through CC - not paying for revenue fares they will be BFOD - using points (mostly my AA brought account to avoid the taxes/fees) to fly classic Business only so still get lounge access. Dusted off the velocity earning CC and will be taking that for a spin. RTW rewards still good value until they screw that as well.

I don't think we can move to BA unless we have a UK address, but I guess you can use a friends? That might be an option

i like using F lounges in US so would likely stay with QF or try for BA via a UK address

have yet to get LTG so would like that before maybe trying SQ

I put staying with QFF.... But I have already partially divested into VA, so I have my eggs in both baskets.

And I already see AAdvantage on the weekends ;)

There is no way I can maintain status on more then one airline at a time, so if I leave, I'd be putting everything towards that new program.
I would likely change to another oneworld program, but I need to work out how the other programs work and which one is a better match for my travel.

I will be staying. I manage to attain Gold each year. Dont travel much so to start over again with other FF programmes may be difficult. So, I hope they dont devalue any more.

I know its difficult to encapsulate in a poll, but "stay or move" leaves a LOT of options out.

I am already a member of QFF, VA velocity, CX Marco Polo, AC Aeroplan, AAdvantage and UA Mileage Plus. Status on 1, 2 and 4.

I'll be staying in QFF, but taking best option on the day - QFF/One World or Star Alliance or Virgin.

Surprised the overwelming majority staying with Qantas?

Staying with QFF doesn't mean they won't be using other programs or flying QF at all. Just says they won't be resigning their membership.

Sorry, its a flawed poll (but unavoidable considering the complexity of options).

The most obvious option not listed is "already crediting QF flights to another FFP"

Only as business pays for the flights, although VA will get a lot more, I should be able to maintain SG with both and then play the field

I already have eggs in QFF and VA so as most of my points come from CC spend (although this last year I have flown enough to be on the cusp of Gold) I will give my AMEX a hammering in the supermarkets where I get 3 points per $

I marked staying put, but a better option would have been to "downgrade membership".

This will be the last year I go to the trouble of earning SG. I'll drop to silver, use the lounge pass that gets - combined with the two lounge passes from my CC and save them for international trips or the like. It doesn't help that there is no lounge in Newcastle, so I can only access one on the flight back and then if I'm driving I'm limited somewhat and the breakfast offerings seem pitiful these days too. I'm cutting back on flights anyway and I'll just go with the cheapest domestic option... not sure yet if I'll abandon my lifetime status aspirations or merely let them take a lot longer.

Goodwill is what Qantas is burning and they'll reap the rewards (aka consequences) of that.

Now I'm back in Newcastle, it needs to be a pleasure to fly - there are plenty of good things to do here without flying and if I feel negative towards Qantas I'll just pass on it (which is looking likely now - going by the flights I've taken and the bookings I've got, it looks like I'll fly half as much this year as last year)... sure frequent flyer status isn't a big deal, but it did make it a bit of a game and a bonus to plan trips. Not that losing the 10-20 seats I would have booked will make much of a difference to them, but the more people for which flying is discretionary that opt out, the tougher it will be for them.

Whilst the changes to the program are annoying and won't really benefit me I can't see myself moving elsewhere.. Although Qantas really need to lift their game with service and if it got any worst then ill spend my million points and move on.

Most of my flights are domestic so I'm staying with QFF because I'm happy with the overall product and I have no desire to fly VA.

As before I will maintain a suite of FF program memberships and use them as they are advantageous to me... These changes actually impact me little as I am not a status chaser and don't fly QF a lot these days, but will continue to build up QF points via shopping and credit cards (along maybe with points to Velocity when those cards offer better returns) and will just book classic awards to dovetail with some one way awards booked in other FF programs...

So just maintain a mix for me...
