Davem,

If you want to be a pilot for the airforce you basically have to be the perfect human being. My brother applied and was rejected because he didn't have the perfect sight that they required even though he doesn't wear glasses and didn't even know he had a problem until his physical exam. Also you usually need to have the extremely high marks so I'm guessing anything below a distinction average won't cut it. I'm not sure what they expect from Uni grads exactly this is based on my brothers experiences coming straight from school.

I hope you can do it, but be aware that they are very choosey about who they train to be a pilot as you are going to have millions of dollars spent on you to train you to become a pilot.

Not sure about the perfect human being bit. I survived as a RAAF pilot for 12 years before moving on. I know quite a lot of RAAF pilots and have trained my share. Very few go even close to the "perfect" status though.

 :D

I'd certainly recommend that anyone who has the ambition and the drive should give it a go. You might just be surprised :!:

My information. A bit late with this answer however have been away (travelling) for the past few weeks.

Left school at 18 and joined the RAAF and completed pilot training. Stayed for 12 years and had a really great time whilst I was there.

Left the RAAF and have been flying in Bass Strait for the past 20+ years. Currently flying S76 helicopters for Esso.

I don't travel commercially a lot these days however enjoy the forums and like to contribute and help when it's appropriate/useful.

:D
