What jobs does everyone do, to do so much flying

.....of the 1m points I racked up in the last 18months only ~70k where from actual flights.

Reading back through the posts your comment made be smile as a couple of years back an AFFer made a comment to myself along the line of "you are one of the old fashion types" when I asked what they meant I was informed "you earn points by flying". It gave me a felling of daja vu as 10-15 years back I was part of the "odd/ weird ones" as I still shot film.

OT - some of my younger staff ask me if I know what a record is (vinyl) I just smile and listen.

I suspect few even in this forum spend such a large percentage of their income/resources on travel. It is by far my biggest cost of living. Why do I do it? Because in my situation, I have to.

I spend a very large proportion of my income on travel. My biggest living cost also. But I do it because I choose to and I have no other commitments any more - plus the slippery slope downhill is getting steeper :eek::):):).

This sounds familiar. It's also the same situation for me, after retiring 10 years ago.

I'm the same, the bulk of my FF points come from flying. I every so often stay at a QF partner hotel and thus earn points that way as well, but it's never really all that much.

I work as an internal/external auditor... besides the obligatory holidays overseas... I may have to travel interstate to attend conferences and educational workshops. (Ofcourse I could attend most of these in my home city of Brisbane but where is the fun in that? ;) )
