I do get some looks when I go through security.
2 phones
1 ipod
2 cameras
2 laptops
I just pretend this is totally normal though.

I suddenly don't feel alone anymore :p

1 x 15" MBP... soon to become a 13" MBA
1 x iPad... Yes great for consuming info... Gets hard to create after awhile
2 x iPhones
1 x Canon 7d plus lenses, flash etc in a Crumpler 7 million dollar home
1 x Canon SX230

Until recently I was travelling with my Sony Vaio X, which weighs something like 650 grams.

Last trip I decided to take just my iPad 2, but was stumped when I need to connect to an SQL database and make a structure change and later there was another thing I can't recall the details of.

So now it looks like I'll be carrying both. Still, at less than 1.3kg combined, not too bad.

For day trips inter-state & intra-state: iPad2
Overnight: Dell Inspiron Mini
+2 days: Dell E6410 Latitude

And of course always with me: Blackberry Bold!

13" MacBook
iPhone
sometimes iPad if going not that far and too lazy to carry the MacBook

Apple products have the best battery life and with my iPhone 4 and I don't need a camera, it actually takes very decent pictures

Alienware 11" laptop for me. Really light, really small, good battery, all the goodies you could want built in.

I carry a Macbook Pro 15", ipad, and iphone. The Macbook and iphone are almost mandatory inclusions in the A380 pilots' bag, which is a bit weird as the Airbus software runs on Windows...but as we've found, it generally runs better on an emulation, than Windows itself.

Another Macbook Pro 15" carrier. Sadly I also carry the other members of the trio - ipad & iphone.

Last big trip we went on (Europe, Dec-Jan), I took a Dell Vostro v13. Not a bad little machine. It was big enough to be easy to use, but small and light enough to be easy enough to lug around.

Also, a Blackberry Bold, Canon 5D mkII with two lenses and a Canon s95 :)

I've since bought an iPad v1, and would be temped to take it on the next similar trip instead of the laptop, if only it had a USB port so I could back photos up to a portable HDD - I was downloading photos from both cameras every night and keeping a copy on the laptop (120GB SSD) and backing up to a portable HDD as well.

On my normal fortnightly work trips to Brisbane I don't take one - I have a laptop I leave in my office in Brisbane to use for the week.

Me too! Which lenses? ;)

Sadly, I tend to favour the S95 these days as carrying the 5DMkII and lenses on board (50mm f/1.2, 24-105mm f/4 and 70-200mm f/2.8) is a real pain, so I only do it if necessary for work or when travelling to a particularly photogenic location. May just need to invest in a better bag though. ;)

/Sorry for the OT.

MacBook Air 11"
iPod Classic 160GB
iPhone 4
iPad 1
iTouch
Blackberry Torch
Blackberry Playbook
Bose QC3 NC Headphones
Assorted Hard Drives and Memory Sticks

It's a quintet!!!!....and then you have to add the Blackberries!!!!! :p:p:p

:)

13 inch MacBook Pro (work), iPad (entertainment) and iPhone (communication).

<snip>

Mal and serfty are rolling their eyes... ;)

Nah, each to their own ;)

For me, I travel with my Android mobile (decent for many tasks, but nowhere near a replacement for a laptop ... although I used it exclusively over the weekend) and my HP mini netbook.

Heh, yeah - we used the s95 for probably 3/4 of the photos we took - so many photos that we wouldn't have been able to get eithout something small that could be carried in a pocket. I'm so glad we had a decent P&S.

I mostly got the 5D mkII out when we had time to wander around, or if there was something we particularly wanted a photo of that we might want to print nice and big . i.e. all the time we were in Paris, Rome or Positano :)

I took what I thought was the bare minimum with the 5D mkII - a 17-40 f4L and 85 f1.8. I only used the 85 a couple of times. I'm mainly a landscape guy, so the wide angle was always going to be on the camera most of the time.

Took all the camera gear + filters+ chargers + batteries + portable HDDs + laptop in a Medium Crumpler Karachi Outpost which I think is an awesome camera backpack, and had the added bonus that it's very secure - i.e. can't be opened while it's on your back. Nice when on the tube!

/Sorry for continuing the OT :)

Short trips just my iPods and Blackberry and Nikon S6000. Future trips will include my recently acquired iPad2. Longer trips and the MacBook and Sony MDR-NC60 Noise Cancelling headphones come along with all of the above.

Two years ago, after 20 years of carrying heavy laptops, i treated myself to a Lenovo X301. As I touctype, the great Lenovo keyboard is worth it. I went wiht the SSD wich is wonderful, and run AutoCAD and vidCAD on the road, so I need a real laptop although large 3D models are slow.

Am cough after the X1 and will upgrade asap, given the i3/i5/i7 chipsets.

Lenovos do not look as cute as MacAir, but they have many clever features (the keyboard drain has come in handy on one flight) and are seriously light. With a bit of car, the battery will go for hours on long flights.

$330 Acer 10.1" netbook running XP. Size can be an issue but is basically more than offset by being very light and compact.

Does all I need work wise + can use it to watch movies. I also take a portable wireless mouse for use when using it for longer periods.

Is this exactly what it sounds like?
