It's ages since I've flown on EY.

Does this airline only have flight deck crew who are UAE/Middle Eastern citizens or is it like (say) Cathay Pacific that employs many British/Australian etc. pilots and first/second officers?

I had a friend that did fly there a while back, it’s largely Euro FOs. They had a whole heap of Australian, American, UK, South African Captains, I’d say that mix has somewhat changed after the pandemic. Etihad skewed more Australian in the training and checking department apparently, again that was pre Covid, having a look, it does appears an Aussie still up heads the ops team at the moment.

From what I have read Cathay has been stripped of its Aussie experience post pandemic and is not what it once was.

Why do you ask?

Because having been on Oman Air in the last couple of years, its flight crew seemed exclusively Omani despite its small population.

Etihad is a larger airline yet 'native' UAE residents aren't a huge resource population-wise in numbers, so I wondered the whether EY has had to recruit from overseas. I've not recently flown on EY.
