I've been reading some of the web articles on the end of the my5 program. Most of the articles give the impression that Flybuys will be sending a lot more targeted offers by email and some of the articles suggest that these offers will be different to the previous pattern of targeted offers.
I've just received a set of coupons for each of our two household flybuys accounts. My coupons are rather ordinary as they want me to spend $120 every second week to get 500 bonus points and the other weeks I get triple points. I am wondering what other sort of incentives they will offer trying to get me to spend this much. This week they tried offering triple points which would have given me over 800 points for the transaction but this to me doesn't represent enough in savings. I would also have been able to use a tell coles voucher to get $5 off as well. This still isn't enough for me given that I can get $10 off every week for eight weeks on my partners coupons by only getting the register total to $50 before the coupon works.
I'm wondering what flybuys will do with my account on the weeks that have the triple points coupons. Will they offer me a fuel voucher or come up with a promotion they haven't tried before?
The news articles implied that Flybuys were going to use the my5 data to create targeted offers on specific items or groups of items. The other coupons we received included offers on meat, seafood, deli, bakery, fruit and vegetables. The my5 items we had were from these product groups so it is possible that they are going to use the my5 data in this way.
What types of offers do you think Flybuys will come up with? What offers would you be prepared to take up?
