What sort of networking is allowed?

The forum rules post is a closed thread so posting separately here.

Is there any restriction on the type of business networking allowed? That is the type of businesses?

I have some business involvement in areas completely unrelated to flying and just wanted to check before post or ask.

Advertising your service fell within this criteria, which is why the thread was closed.


I don't buy sell or swap anything.


Just trying to get a grip on what actually can be posted.

Or perhaps that was the nicest thing I could say.

Here is the not nice way: it is clearly set out in post number 2 of this thread. A moderator has repeated the exact same words. There is nothing unclear. For example trying I buy a car would be buying something. I can't imagine how trying to buy something is not allowed is in any way unclear.

Ok, maybe the choice of my wording is bad in #9. That example means to say that I want to link up AFFers associated with those brands and thus easier to do more research on them rather than going straight to a dealership and have to go through the blah blah blah of the sales person on the floor. The point being that a fellow AFFer would be more straight forward (am I being naïve here? ) in telling me straight than the salesperson on the floor. And I suspect that once an AFFer identify one self, it would be a PM rather than on this forum.

Is this allowed?
