What to bring back from New Zealand?

Definitely do NOT pop some honey in your carry on. They class it a liquid and needs to be in check-in luggage. I sometimes forget it is an international flight and not just a domestic hop skip and jump across the ditch. It sure hurts throwing out $50 tubs of honey.
You shouldn't be bringing honey into Australia anyway - I think you'll find it confiscated if you declare it

I've brought honey back from Europe. The only question at the quarantine in SYD was whether it was purchased from a store. I've been hit by carry-on restrictions much more often than AQIS.

Those merino/possum/silk clothes are so temptingly soft and feel too comfortable to be worn. And they cost heaps. But something little is already in bag. Next, the liquor...

The only outstanding question left is what to bring to a 1-year old rascal?

Checked bags aren't party to the liquid rules of carry-on luggage, so liquids such as honey are best in the checked luggage. Just make sure to declare it. In my experience, commercially processed honey is permitted.
