QF cans direct flights LAX-AUK from May 6th

Qantas to axe Auckland-Los Angeles route - Story - Business - 3 News

I had a JASA July 1st - have already called QF and they have out me on the LAX-SYD-AUK suggest anyone else that has reward flights after May 6th get in early
Not surprised as AUK (in Alaska) does not have a QF pub.
Runway look a tad short for the A330 2200 × 55 ft (671 × 17 m), but QF have good pilots !

Thanks to jdlover23 for alerting me that he had been able to put finalise rebooking, so I called qantas again tonight following 2 calls on previous days where I was told they were still waiting for the 'rules' for rebooking to be released. So after some time leading the guy through the Qantas website so that he was convinced the "rules" actually had been published I was able to substitute my AKL-LAX JASA for a J seat SYD- LAX on the A380 on the same day.

I am Sydney based so v.happy (and was told I will get SCs based on the original JASA)

Excellent I'm glad somebody has found my info useful! Congrats on getting your ticket re-issued, hopefully you found yourself on QF12 and an A380!

Hearing now that those booked after LAX/AKL cancellation to get original points and transferred to 380 is painful, hoping it will be a good result from Qantas after changing ours to BNE/LAX a week before this announcement.

Thanks for all the responses.

I have a JASA booked AKL-LAX in late May. Any ideas what route they might move me to?

I'd be happy for it to become AKL-SYD-LAX, as then I get 260 SCs instead of 160!

I had an email from Qantas today notifying me of the change, which was reflected in my booking online: I'd been changed to QF50 (AKL-SYD) and QF107 (SYD-LAX).

My preference was QF142 and QF11, so I called up and it was changed without a problem. (I now just need to hope that they manage to keep the wings on all the A380s. ;))

I've never done an international transit in SYD, but I assume it's just a case of following transit signs and finding my way back to the Flounge. That'll be the second Flounge visit in two days, as I'll be leaving MEL the night before for AKL. What's the record for the most Flounge visits in one or two days? :D
