Not an impressive selection :(

The only spirit I drink at lounges is whisky straight or on the rocks and Johnnie red is pretty bad (unless it's mixed).
I would hope to see a single malt on offer or even black label would be ok.

OT but I once tried a single malt Glenfiddich straight from the distillery and it nearly made me throw-up :(......mind you, the fact I was at the time, sporting a hangover that would kill a horse, may have also contributed..;)

Treating hangover with whisky is the Scottish way to go... :)
Glenfiddich is actually one of my favorites. Some airlines serve the 12 yo in J as well as the very smoky Laphroiag 10.

Conrad SIN EL is a very good example of what should be in a lounge!

Varying food
Enough food to cover you for dinner
Good drinks
Amazing service/staff

OK, so where are the statisticians?

By my uneducated look at the poll to date, it shows HSP has got it half right. Out of the four top polling choices, they regularly/traditionally offer two. However, the two they offer are choices 3 and 4 and right up until recently, they have not regularly offered the two top choices, that being hot and cold canapes.

The rice and hot dish has surprised me a bit. Although not a preferred option of mine, I genuinely believed it would poll quite well but instead, it's polling 2nd last.

Is it time to pass the results on to HSP? I had hoped for a slightly higher response, but 32 respondents in less than a week is reasonable I guess.

Late to it, but I voted everything in the list as acceptable. Doesn't mean I necessarily fancy all of it, and if I had to choose just 3 or 4 then obviously my vote would have been different.

a decent selection food at the apprpriate times, ditto with drinks, both alcoholic and otherwise.

I'm not all that experienced with hotel ELs but i do find Conrad SIN to be an example of an EL that i really like, and something for others to aspire to (notwithstanding there may be better ones I just haven't been in):

- open from 0600 (or 0630 cannot recall) till 2300 every day.
- breakfast available though I always ate it down at Oscar's so cannot rate it
- tea/coffee/soft drinks available all opening hours
- very nice afternoon tea served
- nice evening canapes served
- alcoholic drinks out and available for self-serve during canapes, and maybe arvo tea - cannot recall (staff will 'import' a drink that is not on display for self-service - eg G&T etc)
- alcoholic drinks available upon request at all other times the lounge is open - in theory you could drink from breakfast to 2300 closing time (not that I would indulge in or recommend this practice )
- complimentary wi-fi
- bloody good view
- bloody good staff
- toilet
- check-in and check-out available, along with other services from a desk which seems staffed the entire time the lounge is open

About the only grumble I reckon some might have is that they serve Domaine Chandon rather than champagne. Not a big deal for me, but some here are a little averse to any sparkling not grown and bottled near Reims! It is Singapore however, and wine of any type is expensive.

PS. Oh ,and on a stay where I could not get a late checkout (place was full), they just cut me a card allowing me access to the EL as late as I wanted after checking out that day. I went out for a while but came back and did not leave the EL till around 5 or 6 PM.
