Tripit is great. How good is to simply forward your travel itinerary confirmation to an email address, and a few seconds later it recorded in tripit.

Also the integration with Planely is handy for the social minded.

+1 for Tripit - ical feature works well. Sharing feature great when travelling and meeting up with people coming from different directions -great to have their flights and hotel details in your phone especially if there are delays. Print version good to email.

I was doing that up two years ago. Paper stack is easy, you throw them out as you use them and keep them in the order you need them. Just no backup if you loose the stack. :p
I have 2 separate stacks and mrsdrron another.Instant backup! My stacks are the printouts from TA to which I add our hotels.Quite easy really.

Fan of TravelTrackerPro for iPhone. You can track flights (booking numbers, flight times, gate numbers, on time updates are free unlike other apps), track accommodation, hire cars, trip costs and even how many frequent flyer miles you will earn on each flight or hotel awards you will receive. You can connect your bookings to TripIt also.

Cost about 10AUD but well worth every cent. :)

A friend recommended the app TripCase and I'm giving it a whirl (iPhone) - but wonder if there may be better out there for storing all journey details; flights, trains, hotels, etc..

TIA.

I feel like Loretta the Luddite! This is probably the most basic and dumb question when I check all the info on this post. However, can you tell me, if these apps are on an iPhone, & you need to check your travel details, do you get absolutely killed on the $$$$$cost of the data download? I thought the trick is to disable the data thingy before you travel, and just buy a phone card to use from o/s? You may have guessed I am still using the old pen and paper method:(

I use myflights which is great for Amadeus based flight info. However you can't buy the app any longer.

My only issue with tripit is that it doesn't have seat info.

You can add seat allocation to your entries.. but why? It's on your boarding pass.

First indication of an equipment change.
First indication of an upgrade clearing.

Also - why bother going into the app and updating seats when the other app can do it for you?

How about ... receive e-mail from hotel / airline / whatever confirming the booking, forward e-mail to TripIt. Because you've configured your Google Calendar to talk to TripIt directly, all of your trip items automagically appear in your Google Calendar - no typing or copy/pasting required!

Blackberry travel goes one step further than this as I dont need to even forward the emails, it monitors my email and picks up any reservation confirmation emails and automatically creates an itinerary, nesting bookings correctly, giving the trip a logical name and automatically adds to my BB calendar and outlook calendar which sync. I dont do a thing except make the booking!
