Hi All

Just out of interest, as I know there will be a bunch of people on here who fly more (and in a higher cabin!) than me, I wanted to know how quickly you all manage to requalify for Platinum?

Of course there is a spread of people who will take anywhere up until the last day to earn the SC's, but this one is for those who manage it a lot faster.

In my case this year I have requalified in just on 4 months.

I'm interested to hear from anyone who is Platinum and how you accrued your SC's.

Was it up the front, down the back, long haul, short haul etc?

Cheers

Last year i had requalified in a month. 2 Trips to J to SFO and with a few day trips to Melbourne. This year i think i took a leisurely 3 sitting on around 2200 SC with 4 months to go.
Most of my flying is international. Y+ or above depending on who i have to steal budget from for the trip. A mixture of airnz and virgin for the international trips depending on if i need my sectors or not.

My first year WP qualify (this year, I was QF loyal until they stopped being loyal back) took 4 months, in which time I also requal'd QF WP in about 2 months.

If the switch from QF continues the requal should be a little faster.

The intra USA flights were on DL?

Sorry - i did not realise it was VA.

I did earn over 1000 Velocity SC's in 10 weeks to qualify WP early last year - that was mainly on award business travel with that great promotion, some on DL.

Ok follow up question to all.

Has anyone requalified Platinum in under 3 months flying economy only? Also anyone done the same, but only flying domestic?

I manage to do it in 4 months with regular travel the USA in Y with the odd PE thrown in.

Cheers

Too many variables for an easy one for one comparison.

My 1 month and 6 days was all domestic but consisted of -Y, Y and J and to take it one step further, was also assisted by family pooling and VA "specials" ;). I'm no where near it this year!

Initial 1000 scs was done in a month, haven't requaled yet, but will do so early next year, works cut back the travel. Mine was all domestic, mixed J and Y.

Mrs F & I both got 1000+ SCs flying J BNE-LAX-JFK-LAX-SFO-LAX-SYD-BNE on a double status credit offer (for the VA flights) 18 months ago. Did it in under 3 weeks. I have the screenshots of this somewhere.
