What's your favourite thing about CBR?

Agree w' all the positive things above. Also, people can afford a lovely place to live in CBR. Not so in say SYD where I lived for many years and go back to frequently. Now, I find SYD frazzling, and love to get home again.

Interesting observation. I found CBR way more expensive in just about every way than MEL.

I found CBR frustrating and am loving it in MEL.

The War Memorial.
Parliament House
Catching up with an old mate is always good (the perfect mix of coffee in the morning and alcohol poisoning in the evenings)

The Majura Firing Range, it's cold, windy, and..... wait, that's my least favorite thing. At least it was back in the day.

Black Mountain Tower would have to be my fave (or whatever it's called these days), followed closely by the War Memorial.

I've woken up a few times with ice on my beanie at Majura.

Yeah same as most, old and new parliament house and the war memorial, and just generally walking around it...

Have a friend there as well, that i catch up with, but haven't been back for 3 or so years...

People love to hate it but I love the fact that I can get around easily, work is consistent, there are some great places to eat and drink (Wig & Pen, Lonsdale St Roasters, Rubicon, etc) and it is home. Frankly, people who hate Canberra either haven't lived here or have lived here for so long they simply have itchy feet. I'll be moving to Germany for three years for work and, to be honest, I reckon that I'll be missing Canberra at some point.

Agree with Silo Bakery. Good Restaurants. Cycling around lake Burley Griffin, and wineries in Murrumbateman

The roundabouts annoyed me when I lived there but when you go back you realise they cough all over the traffic lights every 200m setup we have here in ADL. I also miss the bike paths as both a cyclist and a motorist. CBR is a well set out city and a great example of good planning.

I don't miss the place though, I had a lot of good times there but it was good to move on. I am approaching the same situation in ADL and am wondering where to next :)

Re the roundabouts, we have a saying that if you are driving along and you can see your destination, then you are going in the wrong way.
