Those of you who persevere with wading through my posts are well aware that I consider Los Angeles to be the worst city in the world. I do, however, realise that LA has it's fans, and I got to wondering which places AFF members consider their least favourite on the entire planet. If you have more than one, let's hear about it. My bottom five are:

5. The Gold Coast - vulgar has a face, and it is Surfers Paradise;
4. Dubai - It's the Gold Coast with a giant traffic jam.
3. Shanghai - Once you've gone shopping, had a coughtail and dinner, that's it, game over;
2. Seoul - As for Shanghai, but without the energy;
1. Los Angeles - It's just... Really... Awful... :evil:

Solwesi. While in nothern Zambia it has alot of Congolese issues and people with blown limbs. Could never face these issue and the practical problems they pose.

The post did ask for least favourite.

It's hard to say, there are things about every city i have been to that i might dislike, but if one stands out it would be:

Delhi: just the fact everyone is trying to rip you off.

Having said that I have a trip there in 2 weeks and another in September/October.

Padang, Sumatra.

Living in tents on the airfield for 3 months probably has some input into why I dislike the place so much.

Mount Kumgang - North Korea

Barbed wire, armed, trigger happy military and the ability to have your departure date changed without your consent - need I say more . . . . . .

Geneva has to be one of the most expensive places, but Los Angeles wins hands down. People sometimes say to me they hate America (and this is mainly because most people only do the LA thing) and I explain to them they should think of USA as the human body and Los Angeles is the A**hole.

Not a huge fan of Jakarta or Manila, but then again never in either place to make an effort to go to somewhere interesting (although once I tried in Manila, and the hotel suggested there was nothing to see and I should just stay in Makati). Not a huge fan of Colombo either, the brief time I was there I was subject to constant pressure from touts the moment I left the hotel until returning, but I will give the place another chance though.

And anywhere there is smog for days on end just gets me down, perhaps that's why I didn't warm to Guangzhou as for the 36hrs I was there it was blanketed in the stuff.

Shanghai - it may be better once the construction is finished.... maybe.

Of the places I have been to, it would be CMB. But least favorite as in the thread title is good, as I'd go there again tomorrow!

Vsry hard question to answer. I do no think there is any city I hate as every city has good and bad.

In saying that there are cities (some I have never visited) I would avoid at all costs for one reason or another....

Too easy

3. Shanghai. It was once an amazing place with beautiful neighbourhoods and sights. Now it's just tacky and worth missing. I swore that if one more beggar grabbed my arm I'd grab their neck.

2. Singapore. Just like one huge bland dentist surgery in the middle of a Myer store. But without the charm.

1. London. I just hate it. Litter, litter, litter. Overpriced everything. Disneyland with a tiara.

... [OT] :confused: and to think we holidayed in London last month and are relaxing in SIN next weekend. Looking forward to SIN because its easy to get to for a weekend and not POM...or LAE.

My award for worst would be LAE. The 30 km from Nadzab airport on the armoured hotel bus through 10,000 settlements, the potholes like canyons, the crims everywhere, makes POM a wonderful place to come home to!

Cheers skip

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

3. Tijuana, Mexico - sleaze, drugs, gangs, corruption - it's got it all

2. Cali, Columbia - armed bodyguards going to work using different routes each day, and

1. LA, Mexico... oh, it's not in Mexico OK then LA, Planet La La - yep, something for everyone. Rest of America is probably looking forward to the BIG ONE (earthquake) hoping LA will drop off into the ocean!
