What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

So which is it? Need to exchange a lot of AUD to THB. Today or Friday?
Predicting movements down to just days is getting close to fx trading territories. I would look at transferring parts on multiple days to average out the rate.

Requires a lot of luck to make those predictions unless you can manipulate the market.

If risk averse - lock it in and rub your hands with glee.

If in two minds - do half today and half on Friday - sleep well (perhaps...)

If an optimist who wants to pick the peak - do it on Friday. Forget the sleeping part.

Nobody knows what unexpected news can suddenly come out and ruin the picnic. Keating's Banana Republic was truly unexpected and cost 17 cents and 2.50% (RBA increased the official cash rate 3 times) in less than 45 minutes.

Sept 11 also blind-sided most. October 1987...

They were some of the big unexpected events that bankrupted many a currency speculator whilst making cheap way-out-of-the-money put options speculators quite happy. One official dealer lost their entire capital base selling those cheap way-out-of-the-money put options.

Sometimes I'll go 100% all-in and other times take everything off the table. Now I am mostly off-the-table and happy not to be betting. But that's just me.

In England the Aussie dollar rally continues with the exchange rate being affected by "Grexit" possibility and nearby terrorism. If the UK pulls out of the trade pact with the EU there will be a ruckus in the markets.
Bankwest CCs are working out the best in my multiple wallets.
Basically the British pound has started to tumble pretty quickly.

We are in London living the dream with the U.K. Pound trying to fall further.

If the GBP keeps falling then that might disincentivise me to consider moving to the UK for my next job. A shame in some way because it would be a good experience and I'd theoretically be in demand there, though the salaries on the surface do leave something to be desired.

With London the accommodation can take a fair portion of a salary. Food is cheaper.

I went to a social function recently and talked to a couple of reps from a recruitment agency. They reckoned it'd be cheaper to live and work in Leeds or around there; maybe even cheaper to go more "rural", but Leeds was supposed to be a good balance of not too rural, not too far from London, but cheaper to live.

Groceries may be cheaper. Going out in general, especially in London, isn't a cheap - or even good value - proposition at current.

I was looking at UK jobs and salaries, for me, to be worth it to relocate to the UK I would probably have to live outside of London.

Why? Great time to do it if value is low - makes setting yourself up over there much cheaper.

Avoid Leeds at all costs. That is all........

Why is that? I live in London and it's absolutely affordable even on the 'rubbish' wages! Depends how you spend your money I guess.

Had a second nix for Leeds idea....they said they would not even get a train there as it is a bit too rough. So it is London.

It is cheaper to set up there, though I would have a plan to accommodate that, and some agencies I'm talking to are prepared to negotiate some sort of subsidy for those kinds of costs.

It is then a problem of exporting the money, since even living there I intend to put some money away each pay cheque, not spend it all. Depending on how long I could keep a visa in the UK (i.e. tied to job longevity / continuity), I might not export the money right away, but it is still something to consider. Even then, some of that quid may be used to travel to other places for holidays that don't use the currency; I'm not sure how strong the GBP generally maintains versus EUR, USD, etc...

I suppose you were meant to add something along the lines of, "if you want to live a long life". The agent I talked to did tell me she enjoyed teaching in difficult communities / environments.

I don't have Leeds down for our seniors rail trip for today. I gather Leeds is no Windsor if you get my drift.
The pound falling has been great for us this week so I think l must thank the push to exit the European arrangement which is struggling with too many rules and regulations.

The Royal Leeds Armoury is excellent. There are some good bars and restaurants. Leeds FC play alright. You can day-trip over to Bradford. Hang on...

A "must" place to visit, see if the pictures match reality ?
