No , we will be in Cuba, we only have a day ( 22 hours to be precise ) in LA, we fly LAX- NRT on the 24th.

Long way to go before I worry about breaking my PB (should that be worse) for travel ex rates. Early 2000's we were getting ~ US$0.46c and 0.33p for the dollar. Brings tears to the eyes thinking what the 3* meal and 5* stay cost with these rates.

Yes I remember those days. Travelling with a family of 4 was expensive but fantastic memories.

My US Social Security card has "not valid for employment" printed on it. So that saved me from working for the man (as the song goes).
No i am not a dual citizen...we just live in the U.S. and England part time because we can.
I would have had to apply for Swiss citizenship many years ago so I missed that one.
We have some 0.8640 currency so I don't think I will be worried by the Aussie dollar slipping on this trip.

I also invested in US cash.Quite a lot at ~ 96 cents.Was worried then but laughing now!

The drop in AUD hasn't really affected economy airfares and need to find a way to continue to purchase accommodation in AUD. e.g I booked a superior room including breakfast for 2 at Sunshine hotel Pattaya for 7 nights ~AUD45/night which is what I have been paying past few years.

Premium travel and 5 star hotels at your own risk.

I found a gem of a hotel in Walking street called Walking street guest house only $22 AUD no breakfast one of the cleanest hotels in Pattaya I have ever stayed at, If your a party animal 8pm to 4am this is the place for you, bring a pair of ear plugs if your not.

I know this is NZD but can someone please help? Is this note not legal tender?

Didn't even think about it when I left New Zealand with it. No one accepts in Thailand. Haven't tried here. Anyone that knows me and is going to New Zealand soon can swap it for me please? I still want NZD in any denomination.

I had some slightly soiled USD$ rejected by a currency place in Sydney when I returned from the US recently. Was very surprised, given the often poor state of the notes in that country.

It wasn't me. That's what I got in New Zealand from ATM but didn't even think about it when I left.

When you see the state of Thai baht notes they hand out in Thailand their decision not to accept puzzles me.
