What's your taxi experience lately?

The guy I just had from SYD CBD to the airport was friendly enough. Conversation flowed without the risk of saying something bad or a silent patch which could affect my (or his) uber rating.

I’d like to preface this with my employer picks up the cab fare for my frequent work trips but I only ever use taxis and generally it’s positive. I have used the same driver from home to OOL for 7 years. Never late despite irregular pick up times, always confirms time of pickup by text, clean car. He also collects me on my return or organises one of his 4 pool drivers if he’s unavailable. He’s just turned 70 and told me he is retiring soon so I guess I’ll have to try some other options in the new year. I also have taxi contacts in Sydney and Melbourne I pre book and have never had any drama. One happy taxi user here.
