Looking at JAL's amenity page ahead of a flight and I notice they offer postcards (and ballpoint pens) when asked. Made me wonder, what other quirky items have you come across on offer onboard airlines? Screen Shot 2025-04-08 at 17.06.51.png

View attachment 438503Must say I was somewhat (what's the word...?) surprised by the Cardigan Lending Service..unusual, a great idea, and I guess cost/environmentally friendly way of not doing pjs... But then again, at HND the are shops of things you never knew you needed!!!

I’ve had the cardigan on JAL. I must admit that I didn’t realise that it was a lending service and I “might” have taken it with me 🫢

Royal Jordanian used to offer handicrafts from a women’s collective.

Emirates used to offer miniature houses and forts, similar to the KLM mini houses, but quite dry!

SQ comes to mind in the 70s and 80s with their magnetic games (chess, backgammon) and quirky things like mirrors!

On the Queen mother’s birthday Thai gave out light blue polo-shirts to first class. When I asked if they came in another colour there was an audible gasp followed by a hush that descended over the whole plane… the purser raced over to quietly explain that ‘light blue is the Queen mother’s favourite colour’. 🤣
