What's your Uber experience?

DiDi takes less of the fees at 15%, but as they often charge less in total for a trip, it can mean less in the end for the driver. When demand is high and Uber starts to surge, for example, a driver that usually makes more with DiDi would likely shift all fares to Uber as the amounts received for fares is easily above what DiDi would pay for the same runs

This aligns with my experience, a higher percentage of a much lower amount (which is sometimes the case) actually means less money, and while Didi can be much cheaper it can at times be hard to actually get a driver.

If you have time on your hands, I’m prepared to wait but if in a hurry and things are busy, that premium for Uber can be worth paying!

Has anyone got a "Uber BV AMSTERDAM" charge in their credit card? I use an Amex for Uber and I seem to have been charged various amounts from $4 to $12 on 4 instances this current FY. Looks like below;

Uber BV AMSTERDAM
I think all uber rides outsode of US are billed out of Amsterdam

Your CC pays Uber BV amsterdam $X
UberBV pays the driver via another subsidiary (Raiser in Australia)
Uber BV that subtracts the costs of running the business
Uber BV pays most of whats left to Uber International as royalty payment for using the App
UberBV has maybe 1% left after all that and pays tax on that
The catch is that royalties in Netherland is tax free
