Elderly parents, late 80's flying Syd to Bris & return. Not sure which airline as nothing booked yet.
May need assistance with wheelchair as one...unsteady one feet & other tends to get breathless.
Not sure how they would go once we left them unaccompanied. They sometimes get confused.

How should we go about booking this so they can be assisted?

Thanks

Both DJ and QF have a place you can select 'passenger requires assistance' when booking the flights. After booking, ring the airline and confirm what assistance is required - i.e. wheelchair or golf buggy etc.

FWIW My uncle had a stroke last year (in ABZ) and had to go home on a stretcher; QF couldn't have been more considerate or accommodating.

Sent from my iThing.
Why, because iCan.

QF domestic have a dedicated team for passengers that require assistance.

Just book the flights online, and when that is completed, give QF a call and they can add a Wheelchair or Meet and Assist request to the booking.
Don't know if DJ has a limit per flight, JQ has 2 assists per flight only.

My eldest child uses a chair, I've had nothing but positive experiences with QF.

I can't speak for VA, however if you book with QF you will need to ring them to advise of the wheelchair. They will want to know a number of details Height/width/weight/manual/auto etc.

At the airport your parents will be directed to a service desk where a staff member will discuss requirements for the pre-flight and boarding process.

Spent 4 years regularly flying back and forth Sydney -Melbourne with Qantas and i could not fault them for wheelchair assistance for my wife .

I have had one wheelchair experience with DJ and that was also exceptional. On arrival in MEL I wheeled my mother to the lounge where they looked after her whilst i went and retrieved my car. As I got back near the terminal I gave them a ring and someone from the lounge wheeled her out to meet me.
