When the meal is beyond redemption

The alleged pasta dish looks as if it has been recycled as a cost saving measure. Have a second look at the photo.

It has clearly been reheated at least once given how it has shrunken from all sides of the dish. You can see the places where it originally was touching/stuck to the dish.

Unless it had no tomato in it at all (but given colour that is not a possibility) then the amount of shrinkage implies it has been heated up in the dish at least two times. Given the amount of shrinkage I'd say more like 4-5 times.

That, or left in the oven for several hours over the listed time to reheat.

Given the departure time of the flight (close to 7pm I think) - I'd bet it was a remainder from the lunch service.

Looks can be deceiving.

Exhibit A - J QF Dom

Indeed, QF Dom J can serve some very unappealing meals sometimes and I learned not to judge airline food by the presentation, like this omelette I got the other day which looks like someone just vomited on it :D

(It was actually quite nice that pesto sauce).
Back OT, the OP did say her dish tasted as "good" as it looked so in her case it's a complete fail.

 Don't like the sound of the multiple re-heats !!
The flight departure time was 1455 hrs so a lunch flight.

Once had inedible lamb on IB.You could only taste the salt.Sent it back.Got ignored the rest of the flight until at the gate. All the Spaniards stood up before the seat belt light went off so I did.The FA pushed her way through the crowd and yelled at me to sit down.So I ignored her.

Might be time for a USA status run, after July 1.

I'm always up for a complaint to staff re the food. However I am well aware there is little they can do themselves except rummage around for an alternative.

I have had some food so bad I have written to QF about it afterward, some more recently than should be needed in this day and age.

So while I complain, I don't push it with the on board staff but do give the pencil pushers in customer relations a going over.

Was served a prawn dish on IB longhaul overnight even though I had listed an allergy to seafood. When I asked for another meal I was told that there wasn't anything. Pretzels it was until breakfast!

My AA experience in f was give me QF J any day, AC is a good honest option in North America except for poor IFE
