You say that you only fly spasmodic, so I am guessing that you must fly a few First Class flights during the year to maintain your WP (platinum) status?

Claire Lee, no First Class flight for me. Haven't been WP for about 5 years now, my aims has been to re-qual Gold each year. The vast majority of my flying is Domestic and I use Any Seat awards where available

His handle merely reflects optimism....

Update: I had some flights last week and my numbers have changed:

The march continues...

Is that every flight you've ever flown, QF WP? I wouldn't know how to go back to my first flight on MMA (MacRobertson Miller Airlines in WA, later taken over by Ansett) in 1960 to start the list .

Meant to mention: it was on a DC3!

No, only since I began keeping records (collecting the tickets & BP's). I know I did multiple flights to SYD as a child and TSV + Great Keppel Island for a holiday in 1986 - but no records retained

Been a bit slow on the flights recently, but as you'll see, my signature has been updated.

A fair bit of flying in April and May - have to go and crunch the numbers to see which sector will give me the 1M mark.

Creeping up to the target:

Flown 755 sectors totalling 994,081 miles

Have some flights coming up in May, looks like I'll crack it then :D ;)

Just crunched the numbers, so know which sector it will be (will have to crack the Champagne).

Interesting given we're the same age.

You'll beat me by a long margin. With the mileage already done + forward bookings in the pipe - I'm only sitting on 880,000 miles and 700 flights but have QF LTG in the pocket.

Q - do you regret splitting those miles over to AA.....thus delaying LTG with QF?

Ozfest? :p:p

I look forward to welcoming you to the million miler club

amaroo, yes in one way I do regret splitting to AA and VA - yet it is all part of life's rich tapestry. I wouldn't have had some of the wonderful experiences and met those I have - so one can't look back or change the past...only the future.

You may be correct ;) - but which sector?? BNE/DRW/ASP...AYQ/ASP/ADL/BNE ??? I purposely haven't updated BA97 with some additional flights I have to take prior to ozfest.

Well I've already achieved the mile high club :o, so this is more auspicious, isn't it ;)

Slowly creeping up on the magical total after 2 flights yesterday.

995,793 miles over 757 sectors since 3rd March 1988

I like the number of flights ;)

Would seem I will break the mark during ozfest flights. Champagne all round on that flight - I do believe I'll be in Business to enjoy it.

It looks like your ADL-BNE sector will take you from 999,395 miles to 1,000,402 (give or take a few miles, as some internet mapping tools seem to measure / round distance slightly differently.

Number of sectors will be 762 ;)

Now do I win a prize?

No. You and everybody else missed the cut-off:

So be prepared to chose a date well into 2014 and try for a number of sectors as well.

Book will close on 1 January 2014 at 00.00.01

Pretty impressive that you will cross the million flying miles flying J and with your wife, she may not be as impressed with the milestone as you probably will be.

We will have to have a celebration drink in the Adelaide Qantas lounge, before you reach the milestone.

Our good friend Mr QF WP finally completed his 1,000,000 flying miles.

Before his flight I presented him a nice bottle, a type that a few of us may have previously drank in one of our F lounge visits.

Well done, I have only 350,000 to make that total.

Very nice gesture Bundy Bear, I think Mrs QF WP took the pics with the official presentation of the bubbles with QF WP proudly displaying his BP. We were also honoured to be with Mr and Mrs QF WP in the ADL lounge prior to the one million mile mark flight. Congratulations QF WP...

Manu thanks Bundy Bear for the very unexpected gift.

I also got a nice bottle of Dom J Red from the CSM on my flight
