Is there a thread where one can ask for advice where a particular wine can be purchased from? For example, I have searched on numerous websites / google searches to try and locate a 2013 S.C. Pannell Syrah or a 2010 Penfolds St. Henri (both hard to come by).

A thread where a poster could list a wine(s) they are currently looking.... a fellow poster may know of a store/location where one could this from which can be easily communicated (vs hours searching far and wide on google)?

That being said ... any ideas on S.C. Pannell Syrah 2013 would be appreciated (currently the only place I can find it is when I visit the top of the Rialto (Lui Bar) and Super Club). Unfortunately slightly difficult trying to negotiate a "take-away" bottle!
There is now.

The Melbourne Supper Club is part of a group which also own the City Wine Shop (and numerous other venues).

MSC only has an on-premise licence. Don't ask for takeaway, it is illegal and they don't want to risk their licence. However CWS is a fully fledged wine shop and can sell almost anything to you retail. In fact they have some exclusive imports which they are the exclusive Australian retailer for. If you ask them nicely they can hopefully get most things in for you. If dining in, try the Chicken Schnitzel.

2013 S.C. Pannell Syrah - Have you tried S.C. Pannell directly? Your challenge will possibly be stock given their own website is onto the 2014 vintage now. Perhaps a telephone call may be in order - often you can get lucky. Otherwise try City Wine Shop (as above).

Edit - Also see the notes in the other thread. It may be hard to get given how highly awarded it was (and people snap things up once awards are won).

2010 Penfolds St. Henri - The popularity of this wine has made it scarce. Try Langtons or good wine stores. I tend not to look too closely at Penfolds in wine shops, so haven't specifically seen it recently.

Last i checked about 6 weeks ago there was still stock of Penfolds 2010 St Henri at Mr Liquor Potts Point (ph (02) 9357 2855). Two bottles in store, with more at warehouse. $95 each. And these bottles had stayed there since the previous November when I picked up a couple (most likely due to backpackers not wanting to shell out big bucks on booze), so it's worth calling to see if they still have them.

My other 2 cents is that some independent bottle shops can be really good if you are looking for certain specific things. It can be good to have a relationship with some such places. Usually they aren't the cheapest, but they can often be good to chat to, and will try to get rare wines in, or put things aside for you. Naturally most of the smaller places are better in person than online.

A few Melbourne places:

Boccaccio, Kew
Boccaccio Cellars | Buy wine, champagne, beer and spirits online

Nicks, now in Doncaster

CWS
City Wine Shop – Bottle Shop & Wine Bar in Melbourne

I am trying out a new place in Port Melb this weekend that apparently can get some good imports. I will post here if I like what I see.

The SC Pannell 2013 Syrah will be hard to find as it was the Jimmy watson trophy winner so you will most likely only find it through auction. I note that Langgtons currently have a few going.

The St Henri i could find here. Museum Wine Shop
