I understand it is a shared lounge. Who with? What are the inclusions? Do they have spirits in this lounge.
Just trying to work out if it is worth getting there extra early to enjoy the lounge facilities before heading off to LAX in their premium economy product.
Also hoping to upgrade 7 days out, so migt even be in their business product.
I can only hope if I do, that my experience is better than that of a previous thread.

....sent from the place closest to the airport I just arrived at.

Currently, it is the Air New Zealand Koru lounge. A Virgin/Etihad lounge is currently being built in the new pier.

.... and if using it make sure they call your flight :!:

They forgot us the other day and then we ended up with a personal (power walking) escort service to the gate. They closed the door behind us as we got on board.

I got a little confused when reading the virgin page. It looked like the air new zealand lounge for flights to nz, but flights to lax read to me like it was a different lounge. But if that is the experience of others flying to la, then that is great.

Bill,

you need to learn to limp or fall over, you will be driven to the gate.......

Wait until you need to do this in BKK. Take a defibulator with you.

Yes you get access to the Air NZ lounge which is a great little lounge

Good choice of food, wine and yes spirits (help yourself)

Much better than the SQ lounge, slightly better than the EK lounge and about par with the QF J lounge

Over the last 18 months, I feel the catering in the MEL NZ lounge has deteriorated markedly. (A bit like most NZ lounges in general.)

I was going to say that as well actually :( but I find MEL a little better than AKL

Given that Emirates and Qantas might soon pair up on the trans-tasman route, maybe NZ will improve their offerings!

does anybody know if silver velocity members can use the complimentary 2 lounge passes in international lounges or are they restricted to domestic?

From what I understand and have learned recently, the passes to the air new zealand lounge are issued at check in if you qualify. No harm in asking though if you can exchange them. I understand those passes are for domestic use only, but other more learned peoples here may know.
